In The Walking Dead as Winter has fallen on our cast right after leaving Atlanta, the group realizes that they’re safer than usual because Walkers don’t have blood pumping in their veins, so they not only freeze easier, but this also causes them to move much slower and in smaller groups, which only seems fair because of all of the other issues that come with surviving in winter. As they’re driving in their RV, Rick yells at Dale to stop when he spots something as they’re getting off of the highway, and when they finally approach what he was looking it, we’re met with the beautiful gated community known as the Wiltshire Estates, a location that was cut out of the first two seasons of the Walking Dead TV show, but in the comics we see Rick celebrate saying they hit the JACKPOT. Everyone seems excited, but Rick groups them together and tells them they need to scope out just a few houses for the first day that they can sleep in, but the hope is that they can claim this land for themselves and pretty much have their own CITY. After searching they don’t see any danger, so Rick gathers everyone into the same mansion and they board up a broken window to have a comfortable night in warmth, but when he goes to check the basement to see if there’s any food, reality sets in again when he’s overrun by walkers.
