  1. That was the most boring video I've ever seen for expansion and change announcements. You guys really don't want to get new players at all. None of you even seem excited about the stuff you are talking about. How boring.

  2. If new player onboarding is about getting newbs into player corps as quickly as possible, how does NPE help with this? NPE teaches a handout reward structure, that isn't in the rest of EVE. You can give 2^64 isk to a newb it will not help with the first "real" loss which needs to be with other like minded players to soften the blow and instil EVE culture. With the "Don't fly what you can't afford to lose and more importantly don't rage quit over." and a few hints and questions of others about how it happened and the newb will immediately understand that there are options and a method to the madness. Can't frontload this with npc text and AI Aura popups that make no sense as the newb has no way to discern importance or context of the info.

    Also can't pump isk into the newbs as they will just lose it anyway as they are not familiar with mechanics yet and have no isk/h established. Here is the rub do you want them losing corvettes and empty pod, or back then the typical career agent finisher with T1 hauler handout filled to the brim with everything shitfitted autopiloting to jita 20 jumps; or these days 20-50m (depending if newb found PD isk lucrative enough to put up with it) early abysal runner which will be roughly 90% of the newbs net worth engaging with mechanics they don't know much about? Cranking that isk number up for the first "real" loss will only increase the feeling of devastation. By giving all the handouts via AIR, PD, daily and career agents the newb has no incentive to find corps or change their risk assessment. So that loss will be completely alone cranking that chance of a rage quit way up.

    Some veterans despite the skill injectors look at the age of the pilot seeing them in a npc corp and some of us will try their very best to soften the blow after destroying them. because somehow we just know that there is no incentive for a newb to seek a player corp and share their ups and downs with the corp mates so the likelihood of them rage quitting is very high, which we don't want! we want friends and enemies .. can't have that if they uninstall and win eve. Of course this harshness isn't for everyone so in some cases it might be good to just play something else. But I'm sure that people can be eased into EVE because we have helped some of the otherwise ragequitting newbs to don't do that and learn from it and soften the blow.

    NPE is contradictory to what the vision of EVE is; being a harsh place where the environment forces cooperation. Here the quote from Hilmar typed from Down the Rabbit Hole: "[EVE] is about people sailing into the starry night in ships. That's sort of the inception story of Iceland, Viking escaping taxation from Norway and hoping that there's a new land somewhere. You can just imagine being on a quite ocean in the night looking at the night sky, sailing on a Viking ship. EVE definitely has those kinds of feelings, you can look up and see the Milky Way. And so, the inception of the game and the country are not far apart. Iceland is this place that really wants to kill you. You get the very distinct feeling of that when you're a child growing up there. There's volcanoes, there's lava, there are earthquakes, there are freezing gale wind unpredictably, any month of the year. It's very hostile environment. EVE is like that. It has the toughest environment but to some extent the nicest people. People in Iceland are nice because we've been forced to lean how to cooperate because the people who didn't cooperate are already frozen to the ground."

    My NPE in 2011 was finishing the career agents and getting scammed into a player corp pretending to be a null corp. He made me buy all sorts of stuff in jita from all the ISK I had, "don't worry pve in null is very lucrative." No clew about any mechanics he made me leave my ship because I should podexpress. He would haul everything I had and some errands in one go to null and after I traded him everything got kicked out the corp. Only had few thousand isk and a pod. I didn't know and was way too trusting coming from other games. Obviously rage quitted.

    Came back a year later closed all chats, set CSPA to max and ignored anyone wanting to text me. From there explored in a corvette for a few weeks. Did a few .8 belt rats to get enough isk to buy and fit cargo and ship scanner to scan gankers on gate in highsec choke systems to make any sense of their fits. Did watch them gank and learn some mechanics and also that I'm not worth to get concorded over so in the corvette I'm safe enough in highsec. Learned about bookmarks because gankers used them obviously.

    After feeling safe in rudimentary map travel and grid mechanics in highsec. Wanted to know more about industry and after some excruciating search to make sense what BPO is npc seeded where. Wanted to see Venture BPO source so plotted my way to ORE Null. Would make npc station along the way a home station to checkpoint progression when getting destroyed. Dotlan helped tremendously with the station info. This trip got me smartbombed and hunted in lowsec and bubbled in nullsec. It took me several hours over the span of three evenings to get to the destination. Learned a lot more about the differences in security space. Anyway made it to ORE Null via Syndicate and docked at the ORE station to see the venture BPO for a few million I didn't have. But I wanted to build one and eve uni wiki was the de-facto source of most information until that point. So decided to join them and ask them about a possible plan. Joining them needed SOE epic arc completed so asked the EVE Uni guy what to do in my situation. I didn't know that there were other starter systems with career agents. Did another soldiers of fortune and the SOE epic arc in one sitting. Joined eveuni and after many classes, roams and questions got some more sense about the game and whom to ask to join a corp. extracted the venture bpo and build it .. and the rest is history with breaks here and there.

    I ditched the NPE with front loading info and handouts as it clearly wasn't the right introduction to the game. The wiki reading and figuring it out is part of EVE but I wish that I knew about EVE Uni a bit earlier to join them quicker, or have any other corp that isn't a scam grief baiting corp open to teach rookies. But the key point is the corvette is free and in that ship the majority of the important mechanics can be explored and learned without risking anything. I died hundreds of times in two and a half months before asking to join eveuni.

    TL;DR; NPE is not EVE. I chatted with a guy that never left highsec in the year or so that he played. He lost an orca that he somehow grinded up to in highsec. He was an eve player. Without incentive to get better at mechanics or join a player corp. He did not take safety measures and did not adhere to the only rule in EVE: to never fly what you can't afford to lose and more importantly rage quit over. A solid year eve player practically in a sense still a newb just had his first "real" loss 2b+ … he rage quit for good, as it obviously was nearly all his net worth. Could his lesson be learned earlier? Without loosing so much? Could he be salvaged? Will he be back? What exactly lead to his path? How to get him to low or null learning some of the necessary safety? How to let him learn a bit more without the fear of loss early on? We will never know, but my suspicion is "early handouts NPE", as the newb has no clew about the actual worth until he loses it all, waddles to jita and realizes what happened and what now is lost and because they are newbs no idea how to recover.

  3. The players are mad because focus gets put on things we don't care about, and things we didn't ask for, and then the things we repeatedly ask for seems to get ignored. In the Oz interview something got said about "letting the csm see what we're working on". Not getting with the csm to see what we need to work on, we're just going to let them see what we've already decided on, and perhaps let them have input on some small changes to our plan. Feels like CCP is very out of touch with what the players want.

    CCP is creatively bankrupt. Face it folks, the Microtransaction store is their major concern. Fun is waaaay at the bottom of the list of priorities if it’s even on the list at all.

  5. Games been pointless for ages now – Ever since CCP changed to a scam business model of removing/severely nerfing skills/features that you have spent a year or two training. Effectively stealing your time/money after the fact.
    Then they add something else for you to train for the next year only to remove/change that a few years later. Most 'balance' changes are really a backdoor way to steal/reset progress from players.
    I called out what CCP were up to when they started this business model years ago and they have done exactly what I predicted since.

    The way they run deals now is purely designed to pump up plex prices in game to give them more perceived value.
    Making it more attractive to buy plex packs on the store to sell on the market.

    1st time I subbed by buying plex on the market was 260mil for a month sub. What is it now? 3.2bil?
    The current situation is only attractive to the people buying plex for real money and selling them – its bad for real/active player numbers.
    Logging in to check a skill farm is not an active player/character.

    Eve is a house of cards being supported by a few addicted but very rich players who are suffering from sunken cost fallacy – Eve will eventually collapse if it keeps down this path.

    My brother in spod, there's so little ore on the market universe-wide that the ISK value estimation of ore is completely inaccurate.
    Mineral prices are up 250% compared to before Scarcity and people are bringing out pitchforks over how bad mining mechanics and balance is.

    Please increase average rock volume by tripple, increase highsec and nullsec anom total ore by tripple and remove "destruction of rigs" for prospect arrays..

    And get that GPU pipeline update through!

  7. I seriously tried to focus and hear whats new. I learned nothing. Its all Nullsec corp boring lingo. Some will hate this but as a 2003 EVE player Im having more fun in super flawed Starcitizen. Fix EVE by listening to the dwindling playerbase or face oblivion CCP. Just my two cents.

  8. when such people try to improve the game, they do everything they can, and the desire to play this crap disappears. There is nothing new except PVP, where PVE all the systems are the same, all the objects are the same, all the agents are the same. All this is very annoying, there is nothing unique and different 3 systems and they are all carbon copies

  9. CCP… For most of us is not 'just a game', we invested 20 years of our lives, time and money! Please hire an economist. If you doing right and not mess up with our investment you will have another 20 years of us playing the game.

Positive atmosphere, I thumb up that Nevertheless you talk a lot and after listening this one hour I really have no single specific information of what to expect. Can you come more prepared next time? Show some pictures, videos or models? Tease as a little, please.

  11. Not happy with the way loot is less, Skill points you have to work harder for, The cost in real money to play the game has gone up too much. I don't plex my accounts. Building ships is getting more and more complex. SOE need a Dred or Carrier. Some things are good like the compression in mining ships.

  12. Disappointing. I watched it live and it was a complete waste of time.
    Boring, pre-recorded content with no interaction with the audience (i.e. the players), filled with useless yapping, fake excitement, corporate lingo, and just confirms that these Devs are so engulfed in their own echo chamber that they can't recognize what the real issues outside of their bubble, where the economy is "healthy" and "groups are amped for these changes".
    They can't or won't talk about actual solutions, they talk about taking baby steps, but can't disclose anything about them.
    Weird to think that they spent so much time scripting and preparing this fake conversation, and it just immediately shows how artificial every interaction with the player base is.

    Save your time. This is just scripted marketing content to appease the masses, and you can clearly see how well that worked out by reading the comments. Good job.

  13. Directors, it’s simple: follow Darkpaw Gaming’s lead. Darkpaw currently runs Everquest, and their communication with its player base is what Eve players are asking you for.

    Darkpaw consistently updates its player base with evidence that it listens and acknowledges what they’re looking for and what their concerns are. The company makes it very clear that they are actively engaged with its players in multiple formats, most noticeably in the game’s forums. It’s always clear that Darkpaw reads and considers what the players tell them because the company addresses those questions, concerns, and suggestions on a consistent and frequent basis.

    When devs like Darkpaw use phrases like “you’ve asked for,” or “you’ve suggested,” players know that they don’t speak in a vacuum.

    And this goes for all players, not simply those who represent larger than average revenue streams. Even your rank and file solo artist is heard.

    Eve’s players are begging you for that acknowledgement – not only those in mega corps, but the literal thousands of solo players. Like me.

    This should be the core of your business model. Modeling your communication in that fashion would mean greater profit as well, which I mention because ultimately, you’re engaged in a business. We get that. But make sure your investors know that they’re being heard. All of them. And prove it by specifically addressing discrete topics/items.

  14. hi to all hopefully you are listening, it is now 2025, there's a dilemma, WH space POS, as you know they are multiplying they are unoccupied, just left no one there, either just not bothered or left the game completely, surely if they are given a time a date to live back in them and it doesn't happen then the POS becomes available for anyone to have, again this is a long time problem which has not been resolved, thankyou for listening if you did fly safe

  15. After CCP drastically raised PLEX prices and ship costs, overall prices continued to rise due to inflation. However, income sources remained fixed, completely ignoring inflation. As a result, many activities, including Incursions, have been abandoned.

    Despite this, CCP continues to make the same yearly promises of adding more content. However, every piece of content they release ends up getting nerfed or made unusable because it "doesn’t align with their intentions," and it always seems to be focused solely on null security space. The so-called content they throw at high- and low-security space is nothing more than garbage, making it feel like CCP is telling players to "take this and shut up."
    On top of that, CCP has long been making absurd claims about inflation being caused by high-security content. Yet, interestingly, actual economic reports consistently show that inflation is primarily driven by money-printing bots in null security space and Pochven.

    In the end, everyone outside of the null blocs is becoming more miserable, while CCP panders to them and continues to provide nothing but empty responses.
    The money that players invest in EVE Online is ultimately going into CCP’s ever-growing pockets and being funneled into some strange game that starts with "V," which no EVE Online players care about.

    This is the EVE Online I have experienced from 2018 to the present.
    THERE IS NO HOPE IN NEW EDEN.

    Can I have space to play solo or play with my two friends? Against the same micro groups of players? Both in pvp and pve. Without your BLOB mechanics. You know, like in normal games.
