I started out by playing on the Dread difficulty. It offered a good challenge while I was getting use to the mechanics, yet it didn't hand me victories free of charge.
It's much easier now that I've played on Lethal for a good while, but I think it's a good starting point for those who've played survival games, but never played State of Decay 2 before.
Great information candy Man. Whenever I jump into a random game I always check the hosts stats, it gives me a sense of what I’m dealing with especially in lethal zone.
Still to this day it shocks me when I go into a random lethal or nightmare zone game and the host has no legacies completed and then wonders why they’re struggling.
Some people love the difficulty of surviving, I am one of them but I never jumped into lethal without becoming adequate in standard and dread.

Played blue zone for a long time. Finally stepped up to Dread zone and lost my first ever survivor to a feral. You certainly take things for granted in blue zone like taking unnecessary hits from zombies and noise from weapons.
I usually play on lethal if I just want an almost unwinnable challenge but if i want to see what a legacy looks like I'll play the easiest zone to see mechanics that I wouldn't be able to actually make it to on lethal.
I'm confused. I blew up all the plague hearts, cleared the infestations (new ones started appearing) and there are so many hordes and freaks now that I can't turn around with some fresh hell having spawned behind me. (this is on dread)
