DeviantArt OC NFT’s are CRAZY
"a hobbit exists only in the world of middle earth" that literally made me laugh so hard considering how many dwarfs, hobbits and elves I seen in countless movies, animes or games and they werent set in middle earth to begin with.
I have to say something cause honestly this is so ridiculous. I normally don't care or join in on those types of discussions but I want to talk about an aspect I feel has been overlooked by everyone commenting on this.
Closed species or not, that's besides the point IMO. What happened was, that Hachi drew a Ghostie Design (for a commission, if you go back on her media tab) for a client.
And then shortly after changed her Vtuber to have the same traits (Ghost Orbs in her cat ears when before it was wisp flames) as well as giving herself not JUST a ghost tail but a ghost tail with animal attributes, and a face. Its the combination of all of those things combined.
So CS or not. What happened was that she literally implemented rather unique design aspects into her own, without changing them up or putting her own spin on it. So how are we overlooking this detail?
If i were to commission someone and shortly after they change their design to have some very unusual unique aspect of my design on theirs, Id feel pissed too and would block them. Doesnt matter if it is part of a CS or not.
But when we do take the CS aspect into account I have the following to add: HACHI LIED. In her own thread she said she has had no idea about the CS bc "I was not on deviantart"
but in Kaoris screenshot we see her admitting to the fact that she saw those things around a lot on deviantart and Pinterest. So how come you saw that when you weren't on dA?
Not to mention, the creator of the CS gave permission to members of the CS to "copy them" so to speak. Hachi did not have such permission. She uses the excuse of "i saw it around a lot" as a justification for her to just take the trait and put it on her oc. Just because something is "around a lot" doesn't mean you're just free to take it? Again the issue is a consent issue.
She didn't put her own spin on the design.
Her excuses are ridiculous because she says "they don't own a concept" which yeah they don't. But the concept here would be poltergeist/ghost.
not "ghost tail with face and cat ears and ghost orbs."
She even uses other vtubers like sleepy bunnsu as example who are a poltergeist cat or something which…If you had any idea, Sleepys design is based off of a Bakeneko/Nekomata with the split cat tail that's having ghost flames on it, it does NOT have a ghostie tail or ghost orbs… Its a completely different concept to poltergeists?? Invalid point? And Hu Tao from Genshin has Ghosts with faces, their ghosts do not have animal traits NOR are they glued to her butt….??? To use those two as an example as to why her stealing is okay, is so far off the mark its a deflection tactic..
if I have to compare it to my design, I don't own the concept of nurses there are many nurses around? But I do own my design traits such as the combination of hair + hair color + accessories /outfit. And Id be pissed if someone would take that after I commissioned them…
To give a different metaphor: Burger Joints.
You are free to open your own burger joints, there are plenty around ofc. but you are not free to call ur joint "burger king" just because you've seen a lot of burger kings around…
AND MY LAST POINT:
She was confronted in PRIVATE. If she would have just kept it private none of this would have ever happened. But she went ahead and immediately not only dropped screens (leaving that one screen out where she lied) but also didn't censor the name. So when people now had to reply because they got name dropped, it became a whole spectacle.
And she didn't stop tweeting about it or anything? And now that you made a video about it she goes and cries to twitter of "how could you do this to her 🙁 taking public information and putting it in a video!!! giving your opinion!" because you called her childish for doing a childish thing.
using autism as an excuse as to why she acted childish.. which is something i take GREAT offense to. I have so many autistic friends and none of them would ever act like this. Having autism doesn't excuse your downright malicious behaviour of stealing, lying, blasting other ppl to social media. Like? Be for real.
But hey. The community seems to reward such behaviour, she gained 4k+ followers for this drama. Good for her.
Hachi has said she had Autism, as someone with autism (and also an artist) i am CONSTANTLY tired, low energy, emotional and easily burnt out. i can feel for her when someone says one thing and tries to be like "oh i didnt say that/ mean that" or when everyones communication is god awful and not clear and direct. neurotypical ppl will always leave room for misunderstandings, confusions, or a hidden meaning behind what they are saying, then will get upset and think the neurodivergent person asking questions and trying to understand is them arguing and being rude when they are not. some ppl with autism feel emotions in BIG or like nothing at all, nothing in-between, being stressed/over worked/burnt out is not gonna help when theres tons of hate and drama happening… big emotions will happen. Many on the autism spectrum have a strong sense of social justice / justice in general too, it can cause arguments for sure. tbh this whole "drama" is stupid and blown out of proportion… im not defending hachi in anyway, she could have kept it a mystery of who blocked her and vented their first post and left it as that… everyones in the wrong in their own ways
So this whole CS stuff is basically an Artist DND campaign, where the entering fee is money or finding a campaign that does not cost money. It would be like if the person who came up with Dwarves barred everyone from making stories about Dwarves bc it is not canon.
Also that the whole situation regarding the three people at the beginning. So K "suggested" H to change their design bc similar to a CS. H makes it clear they will not, and goofs on screenshots reveals it was K. They complain and block each other. Finally M clarifies what they think K meant to say to H.
This all felt like two kids fighting over a crayon which breaks, then an older child arrives in the aftermath to try to calm both kids by explaining why they each wanted the crayon.
this stream led to an infinitely long twitter rant from Hachi about autism/age regression x)
the classic vtuber drama leads to the eternal excuse of "I suffer from XZY thus I cannot be critiqued"

I’m sorry, but I truly don’t understand why this needed to be a stream? You would have been better off making a video with structure and maybe comments from the parties involved??? Like, you just read their tweets and googled some stuff and it didn’t inform anyone of anything they haven’t read before.. You said it yourself, the conversation about it stopped on Twitter but you had to pick it up and make it loud again. Why? Why was it important to show that one of them posted about gaining followers? To show that’s why you’re streaming about it? And then when one party joins the chat you still don’t consider inviting the other to have a fair conversation. Sorry, but this was useless and only added more drama to this. And I think you know that.
Did this really need to be a 3 hour stream? 😅 Just let others do what they want to do… Maybe start to make your own content instead of intertwining yourself in other peoples situations… I used to love when you did the live 2d videos….
I don’t think Hachi didn’t do anything wrong, although she could have done things to make her not feel so stressed tho it happens all the time, & everyone who was trying to make it a little harder or something, they shouldn’t have done anything, for me I think anyone can draw what they want of any type of species, we can all get inspiration from the drawing but no tracing on the drawing, I only trace over some poses/bases but I make it look a little different & to make it look like my character
These Ghosty species having their own lore and traits and the Vtuber JUST. HAVING. A. GHOST. AS A TAIL is not the same thing. Did she copy FROM them directly? No. Did she have the same lore about it? No. Legit its just a ghost. Why are they so pressed lmao. They should reach out to Hoyoverse next since they also stole their closed species with HuTao then. Especially one of their expressions since its theirs apparently
