  1. Who cares Sean Payton would be a disaster hire another 60 yr old coach. He also has interviewed with the Broncos. Texans fans are so desperate to be relevant. That's why they will never get it right instead of hiring young talented coaches. They rather give up capital for a coach who quit his team than build a roster. He'll coach 3 years and leave for something else outside of football. Texans fans are pathetic.

  2. Lol he’s basing this theory over something that Colin Cowherd said on his show ? We all know that Colin is not the most reliable source for information. He’s known to tell a lie or two or three when ever it suits his narrative.

  3. The dysfunction is probably a combination of Cals speaking and his lack of football operations.knowlwge . It's obvious the Texans are in deep trouble. Cal if he wants an established coach is gonna have to throw a blank legal tablet down on the table and say, WRITE DOWN WHAT ITS GONNA TAKE and then he's gonna have to hand them his keys and go away only to sign paychecks. Otherwise we are done

  4. It’s all a smoke screen , the deal is done !! Notice that there’s not much if any info on how the interview went with the Texans plus no1 knew that the Texans were gonna interview Payton first until after it happens everything tight lipped but yet there’s some info out there about how the Denver interview !!! Don’t read to much into what Colin said on his show 😉😉

  5. I’ve been watching football for years and I’ve noticed one coach cannot change a whole football team and the way they play. look at Gary Kubiak he was with us for years and we blamed him By how bad we played and then he went to Denver and wins a Super Bowl we got to stop blaming these coaches it’s really up to the players to.

  6. The one and only pro is you know exactly what you're getting with Payton (and yes I already posted a similar comment). Hiring a first time HC no matter their credentials is a crap shoot. With Payton you also have a coach that will cut out the meddling of Caserio. And like what has already been said, it makes free agents signing on to Houston more attractive. That's code for the Texans won't be as dependent on building through the draft. So I say yes, IF Payton is agreeable and IF the Saints would accept the 12 pick then by all means do it.

  7. I don’t think Sean Payton is the Texans guy they only doing this because it’s what fans want. I don’t think they want to give up anything to get him, they probably half assed the interview

  8. And for those that are against spending a 1st rounder on Payton, remember this; should, by some miracle, Payton decide to accept the Texans job, the Texans STILL have 10 picks in this year's draft AND 9 picks in 2024 that still includes two 1st round picks. Not bad in my book! (How am I doing, Sarah?)

  9. [TRADE – 2024 1st from CLE – for SEAN PAYTON]
Sean Payton loves RBs (Kamara, Ingram, Sproles)
    #2 Bryce Young
    #12 Bijan Robinson
    #34 – TRADE – (2nd + 4th + Brandon Cooks) – to Green Bay #15 for Jaxon Smith Nigba
    OFFENSE:
    QB Young
    RB Bijan / Pierce
WR Njigba / Metchie / Collins
    OL Tunsil / Green / C? / Cann / Howard
TE OJ Howard / Akins / Quitoriano
    We'd still have …. (+ 45 million in CAP SPACE) … to address (C, DT, DE, LB, CB, S) 3RD (65th OVERALL)
    3RD (73rd OVERALL – CLEVELAND)
    5TH
    6TH
    6TH (NEW ORLEANS)
    6TH (NEW YORK GIANTS)
    6TH (MINNESOTA)

  10. I think that Sean Payton is a good head coach, but I personally would not give up a first round pick to get him as a head coach. I would rather use our second 1st round pick to move up to #1 to draft Bryce Young.

  11. I’m cool with giving up a first. That two talk is a little nasty though. Cooler with not dealing with any of that at all as a fan. All in all I’m neutral on it.
