  1. Thankyou AGAIN for my daily dose of your fishing adventures. It really ignites my passion for catching and cooking as what I used to do sooo many times together with my son Michael. I used to do all sorts of stupid things like quit good jobs, marriages, sell my little supply of worldly possessions and pitch up our huge tent for weeks and months at a time just so I can live near a beach and river and do the hippie style with my son! What a blast that little angler is!
    Thankyou Gido heaps! ……

  2. As someone that has used the Islands for years (and sold my fair share), when I watched you haul that thing up the rocks every component I expected to see broken was broken. What you had to contend with there is precisely why I have always avoided trying to land on an island that doesn't have a beach landing.

Also I would suggest that you would be far better off using a Glide Tech Drive over the MD180 for big open ocean trips. GT drives are like AK47s (more reliable). MD180 drives are like AR15s (more features). The former has less moving parts and performs just as well, if not better than an MD180. I have never seen a single broken component on the new GTKU drive but can't say the same for the MD180. If I was still active today I'd be using the GTKU drive for missions like that.

Great video by the way. Subbed.

  3. Great challenge for you. Both the hobie and groper gave you a hard time, well done. Is there any good freshwater lakes not far from you and have you thought about trying something like that as well. Not to say what you are doing is great but it might be something that would interest you for something different.

  4. I realise you know much more than me about Kayak handling than me, but if I may make a suggestion, get yourself a painter you can get a proper grip on, it's not nice to fight something that's trying to cut your fingers off. You can haul properly on a three quarter inch, laid rope but bigger is better. I know it looks disproportionate, so what, it helps !
I've spent a lot of time on proper boats, and hauling gear up and down on the jenny wheel, and you can't do much on thin cord. I thought I'd add, as you're a climber, that climbing rope is too thin for comfort, I have some.

  6. A fair bit of sketchiness in that one Gido. Good to see you off that island and safely on your way home. Breathtaking views from the top of the hill though. πŸ‘πŸ‘

  7. Awesome venture definitely not for the faint hearted , this is when we dig deep to draw up that knowledge that lies deep inside in a sketchy situation besides all that nice Grouper magical scenery, whales seals what more could you want 😊 evidently you made it back safe hence the posting of the video πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘
