This time around the New World dev blog is talking about the end game difficult changes in the recent 1.1 patch for the game. They dug in and held their ground explaining why they’re making these changes and why they believe it’s better for the game in the long run.

Not only that but they re-confirm that the New World elite supply chest nerfs were not intentional and they’re going to be changing them, but we have no idea if they’re bringing them back to how they were, or if they’re going to make them have better rewards than before. We’ll have to wait and see.

  1. How to kill PVE , make élite zone/ portal lvl 65 impossible and bugged.
    Soooo smart, good move Amazon.
At this point it's a clown fiesta. Let's wait to see what stupid thing this devs will create.

  2. Dude, I'm so glad you are banging these out, honestly don't know how you do it so fast, but I agree with you that the end game, actually the whole game has been way to easy compared to other MMOs. I'm at 55 because I've basically just been sauntering thru, kinda glad it's gonna be a bit more challenging. Probably get a lot of hate mail for that, but it's just my opinion.

  3. I just went to Myrk with 30 to 40 people and only got 3 or 4 drops in an hour or 2 killing close to 50 elites, it is so dull . On top of it we did a few 65 portals and didn't get any reward for them, I had the most fun around level 30 to 50 in this game

  4. I stepped away from the game recently. still keeping an eye on updates n such but the game in its current state has far too many flaws to be enjoyed and thats why the game is bleeding players.

First off the leveling experience in this game is gonna scare off most of the new players trying the game out. infact im shocked that a game released in 2021 can make WoW classic leveling look revolutionary with its mundane n soul devouring design of "run for 15 minutes to perform a 2 minute task n then run back n repeat" It "worked" back in 2003 but by todays standard this level of design is unacceptable. People kept telling me "its so you can explore the beautiful world instead of tunnel visioning max level!" the world is indeed gorgeous but there is absolutely nothing in it! everything is copy pasted including the enemies you fight. there is nothing to explore at all nor is there any reward for exploring what so ever. If i wanted a game to aimlessly explore in n look at enviroments there are far better alternatives for that such as Red Dead Redemption.

After forcing myself to play till lvl 60 i was hit by the next progression flaw of which is GS watermark grind which isnt meaningful, its not satisfying and its not rewarding its just soul devouring. the PvP which was ( hopefully considering everything else is by design hollow n awful ) the main focus of the game design is also heavily flawed ranging from outpost rush primarly being decided by PvE activities ( fk those mega op demons ) and wars being locked behind being exclusive to quite few individuals.
Wars ontop of that arent fun to beguin with due to the flaws of the gameplay loop itself, the game cant handle blobs of people being in the same spot at the same time. something you can even experience in outpost rush from just say 15-20 people battling it out in the middle n the performance of the game turns into a potato where hits doesnt register n what not where say a musket shot fired into a blob of people magically doesnt register etc.

The combat felt intressting n unique at first but it quickly got repeatitive n started feeling awfully clunky in the sense that once you´ve started an attack you cant quickly cancel the attack in favor of blocking, dodging etc which significantly lowers the skillceiling of the gameplay aswell.

Overall the game is in need of massive overhaul quality of life changes before it stops feeling like a poorly released beta. the game has potential but i fear the game will have lost 95% of its playerbase by the time they manage to make the game into a somewhat enjoyable experience that doesnt solely appeal to the rose tinted glasses players.

  5. I just think you're missing the fact that although WoW you had to raid dungeons over and over, there were actually named items which were BiS, so it made sense to run dungeons, and they were pretty fun!

Running the dungeons in this game is so time intensive on top of all the other time intensive activities they do (I swear to god bringing in Alkahest was another time gate for end game content)

With the current content on New World, nerfing elite chests and raising all the enemies there to max difficulty over night stealth mode, is not something really to be agreed with.

I get you make your content from this game and are invested in it's success, but you'll lose people if you just find the first sign from AGS to agree with them on some pretty major changes that have turned off a huge portion of the fan base.

  6. Gear rolling system and wm system is garbage. Then they want to make you do all kinds of things say for instance opr. Has anyone looked at server populations? Opr is just a dream on most servers. Then invasions, yet again most servers can't even get close to a full army. And then portals with this last update (yet again) if your server is dead you ain't gonna be really doing those either. Atm they are further killing servers making everything harder by limiting our content down to 1 or 2 things. Not to mention the crafting system and what you craft is bogus. How much you gotta make to get from 100 to 150 now, and it's all crap stuff. Have they not noticed that 90% of the servers get no new players at all lol like come on what you gonna do with a 1000 crap pieces of lvl 40 gear

  7. It's not just 60+. Yesterday I got some quest that is like 55 and I was suppose to go drop some rose in an altar and kill some elite bat. There was no way in hell that I could solo or even 3 man that mother fukin elite!!! I had to ask a group of 60 players to help me out and only then I was able to get that done. They upped that MF HP so much… it's just retarded

  8. I'd like to see the data (easy enough for them to query the info) is how many people made 60 each day since release.

I like this channel and 1 other can get behind, but for the most part I won't take advice from most lvl 60s on youtube when they are as out of touch as our current administration is.

We don't need their info because it's all geared to lvl 60 player, even the ones that talk about "do these thing to make money before changes occur, or how to efficiently level gathering skill. I don't give a crap about the best farming routes which at lvl 40 I can not do, do they EVEN consider this?

  9. I dont care that they made myrgard harder but the chest loot being as bad as it is makes no sense to even go there, there's no incentive at all. I dont want to have a slide show in wars or Outpost rush. All there is to do thats really rewarding is farm and craft..

  10. Why would you mention WoW when you don't understand how it works? WoW endgame funnels you through content but the point is the content evolves as your gear upgrades This change proves that they have nothing in the pipe that is going to challenge 600GS players and that's terrible.

  11. These changes were not good. It's no longer worth running elite chests at all. Reagent drops are so stupidly low, crafting was already a time sink and it is now worse, and all this did is make the gap between the no lifers and normal players even higher.

  12. Because jumping wall to wall crouching every 10 step to lose the aggro and farming 24/7 the same 2 mobs was definetely the experience they were aiming for uh? I'm fine with the increased difficulty, now you have to do myrk with an organized group of 30 people instead of 5 random that crouch behind walls, and you will do probably just one run per day, just look at them like an open world event like GW2 world boss and not like the main spot to farm. For this reekwater is still the same if you want to just reach the 570/580gs

But the fact that it was a stealth nerf yes, i can get it's annoying especially for more casual players

  13. So, after two runs through Pools and Sirens, I noticed something weird about the gear I've been getting on the runs: their average quality has gone from roughly 1 out of 10 pieces usable to anyone to maybe 8 out of 10 interesting pieces with 2 of those I actually sold for hundreds of gold within an hour of posting.

While this isn't very good for my current repair part shortage, I am pretty pleasantly surprised by the huge increase in drop quality. Need more runs to ensure this isn't a fluke, but it single handedly lifted me out of the funk new Myrk landed me in. Myrk however, is as cancerous as everyone says it is. Don't go.

  14. I think that a distinction needs to be made between gear progression and getting best in slot gear.

Compared to WoW(which I know people hate but its what I'm familiar with) getting you gear score up is a real slog. You start a fresh level 60 dropping at 500 gs and you have to grind each individual slot and type up by 2-5 levels per drop if you get lucky enough to get a drop. That's after spending 2-3 or more hours a day you'd be lucky to get to 515 if you spent an entire day trying to gear yourself.

When the only content a real fresh level 60 can do for fun is opr and a vast majority of players in this game mode are pushing 580-600 gear score its not even competitive, its just a stomp every time. No one is out there running elite zones for fun they are zerging them daily and in my opinion that is considered content for the hardcore crowd. This game isn't built like a looter shooter but it really feels like that's what it's trying to be.

I agree that the best in slot gear should be locked behind end game content, but instead of making the game hard by making the end game content a marathon to get to, spending days to farm the gear that makes your watermark high enough to actually stand a chance in anything unlocked by level 60, it should be more rewarding with a hard cap on gear obtained by open dungeons and chest running.

Named elites drop unique weapons that can hit 600 gear score and become legendary. Dungeons can drop unique items that have a combination of abilities that is otherwise unobtainable and extraordinarily beneficial. But bottlenecking the game and its content behind needing to spend a week or more of grinding to get your watermark up to a respectable level is definitely not the move and objectively has killed the game for me and a lot of people that I play with.

We log on to play the game and smash peoples faces. We want to run dungeons and fight cool ass monsters and explore dungeons that aren't built in a straight line. I don't find logging into the game every day to run through an elite zone with 50+ people fun or engaging but its the only way to get gear other than being stomped on in opr or spending all of your gold combing through the auction house to buy gear for a weapon combo that you end up not even liking, but you have to buy it in order to actually try it out or you are left feeling weak and hating it anyways.

It sounds to me like this is the issue that they are touching on when they made the post that was highlighted here. However the experience that I have had leveling from 1-60 was more fun and engaging than the content I was given after I hit 60 and that is terribly demotivating as a player. It might be "easy" to get your watermark up when you can play for 10+ hours on a daily basis and all you are doing is running through an elite zone with a zerg mob, but speaking for the people who play more casually I think that they could do a lot better about progression so that fresh level 60's don't want to quit the game because they need to close the 80 item level gap between hitting 60 and being able to stand a chance in the end game.
