A one day visit to Death Valley National Park in Feb 2020. Of special interest to us were three filming sites that were used as locations for the 1977 Star Wars movie. I had searched these out online where specific locations are cited. The first one is easiest to find–you drive to Artist Palette to the circle parking lot. Get out of your car, look to the left, walk up that short rise and there is a viewpoint of the canyon that was used for a shot of R2D2 rolling toward the camera, down below.
