I don't play anymore but it's still sad to say goodbye to a game that I put over 4500 hours in. But all good things must come to an end o7 – DrunkenGooseTR
Mate I just finished playing EVE while watching the vid, closed the game and was like "why is the music still playing?" 😀
Although I haven't played the game long, I can attest that Planetside 2 has a player population problem, albeit only at peak hours when a lot of people are online. The game is essentially a gradual death because of the noticeable decline in player numbers.

I last played ps2 in 2017 – 18. I had 100 hours or so on miller VS. I have returned out of curiousity and nostalgia. To me the game seems to have lost a lot of its variety.
I remember being able to flank and ambush and infiltrate a lot more effectively rather now ive been playing for 10 hours and every obj plays the same, one team spawn traps the other with suppressing fire or an army of artillery.
Long gone are the days of shelling the shit out of ti alloys from the crown with a locked down prowler and stopping sunderers from ceres. But i will forever hold those memories in my heart.
The first time i opened this game in nov 2014 a huge convoy was moving and i couldn't believe my eyes, at the time i had never heard of the game and i certainly didn't imagine it was that huge and immersive.
Rip to one of the greatest shooters of all time. Hopefully someday another will trace its steps.
Cyrious, after advocation for a change in the construction system, you killed it, fck it and now everyone who wanna build even a small base, have to be a running like a headless chicken placing modules. its so stvpid.
I first got into Planetside 2 after The Spiffingn Brit’s videos. Ran with RBRN on Cobalt occasionally since then, I wish I spent more time with the game. Cobalt Clash may 22 was one of my best gaming experiences. Rest in peace Planetside 2

In the last few years I got really into this game. But unfortunately its not 2020 anymore. the player count is really down. All the enemies I am fighting are 10k Directive points pro's that just destroy me, a few now and than even seem to be cheating, and all in all it's becoming less and less fun.
I don't feel like having much of chance in fights. No real turn-around in grand battles, and if im not with at least 1 discord team mate, I just don't play anymore. Which sucks because this game singlehandedly became my favorite game in record time. But with an update like this, and lack of support from the devs, I am not getting much hope or motivation, unfortunately :/
At least they fixed somewhat the friendslist bug. I could reinvite friends that had been in my friendslist again. But all the people I dont have their names written down, seem to be lost to time. Another reason why I don't go into the game solo anymore. Since the randoms that used to invite me into their outfit or platoon fights, can't reach me anymore and vice versa. .-.

Meaningless doomposting is what i have always hated about ps2 community. Glad to see nothing has changed over the years.
at least DimGiant is working to make another game so that we can have planetside again basically but with another name xD
It's honestly just how things are the game was at it's last leg and thank wrel or it would have died sooner. The fun is over and hopefully another MMFPS or a ps3 will come later. No game is immune to death it's best to learn from the mistakes at least.

yeah I have basically quit the game until Connery gets merged with Emerald cause its unfair to start over and basically having a high BR character held hostage (however the likelihood I will even return at all drops by the month)
Logged in a few days ago, and the same thing that happened to him in the intro was exactly what happened to my ESF. I had no idea Sunderers received a buff, I thought a cheater was logged on. I logged off. Now that I see it's a game feature, I'm likely not going to log in any time soon.
You know, it is kinda liberating that someone else confirms your suspicions about the state of the game and you yourself then do not feel bad about letting it go.
Well, it has been a good run. Started around 2014 myself. Pretty much my first FPS game on steam. I am sad to see it go but that's good, means it meant something to me.
I Don't feel like the game will ever truly die, if the plug gets pulled, bring out the private servers.
This can sounds strange but this seems like good news to myself because i fell in love on the game when i was a child but stop playing because my pc can't run anymore, i persited and keeping trying to play on small battles where the fps is good…
Even on more bigger battles low fps like 20-30 is not a proble my aim was still perfect! I was still winning a lot of 1vs1 and the macro strategy and co-op was holding me on the game but the input lag keep getting worse and worse at the point that was impossible to play.
The inputs could take literal seconds to respond, was horrible and i droped the game for good, lowf ps is not a problem to my aim or experience in general i am used to never be able run the games i like but is hellish to stand input lag, horrible…
Buut now some years later there is less players, yeah i can play now again 🙂 Seems like when i get the pc to be able to play my child game the game will already be over -_- …. Great….. some day we will have another planeside, i am 100% sure of this the game will come back or another one is going take his place.

I thought the Basi rework back in the day when they gave it 400 RPM along with other buffs was bad. Kinda similar to this situation since it wasn't nerfed until after the weekend in that state.
Also, it could always be worse… WoWs had a goddamn invincibility bug (YES invincibility) recently. Flamu had a video about it maybe a week ago. How that game is still existing in this state is amazing.
I made a similar video on PS2 about 2 weeks ago but I appreciate that you went more in depth into what's going on with the game as someone who seemingly actively plays the game through all of the updates and transitions.
Why anyone would want to cheat on a dying game is simply beyond me.
