It could be something that was a failed project of some kind of ancient wizards, before the ministry of magic was a thing, to create a pathway to the other side. But it would be more probable if it was a cell keep something that can not be killed in it and the whispers people might hear is the thing inside tempting them to free it.🤔
I'd like to think that there is a personification of death and the Veil was how he travelled to and from the Mortal World to the Deathly World. After the Veils capture he stopped his holidays into the Mortal World which is why nobody encounters him anymore.
Something unique about the Wizarding world is the constant interaction with the dead. Could we assume someone at some point, asked a ghost about the existence of an entity called death?
I think Death was real that would explain the Veil, the three deathly hallows he might also have created the Dementor but yes I’m pretty sure that is real
Sounds silly and maybe this has been addressed, but why couldn’t they ask a ghost what happens? They chose to come back, so they must have some knowledge of the other side
Without proper novels, MACUSA will never have the depth as the Ministry of Magic but I wonder if they have wonderful and evocative chambers, yaknow besides the [i'm never watching that scene again] nightmare fuel execution [without due process] chamber.
I hope j.k do a book about peverell brothers?did peverell brothers created unforgivable curses and veil?which house was peverell brothers in?did albus say that peverell brothers were dark wizards?
I propose that the resurrection stone has been used wrong since death gave it as a gift. The stone is obviously a peice of the veil but what if instead of being any random peice it was actually the key to allowing people to come back threw the veil. Death gave the stone to the brother knowing he wouldn't know how to correctly use it thats why it only shows ghost like people and doesn't actually resurrect people. The key to the stone is reconnecting it with the veil only then could it potentially bring someone back threw the door. Think of the stone as the key death locked it from one side ( we know this because you can still pass threw but not come back) and gave it away knowing no-one would know how to unlock its full potential….. anyway just my theory on the matter always found it strange the resurrection stone can't actually do what it's name suggests so this could be a possible explanation
I cannot discount the possibility that Beedle the Bard could have been an Avatar of death itself. What a spin would it be if it was Beedle who created the 3 hallows and lived through the ages changing his name and appearance as an Avatar of Death. Like how Marvel's Moon Knight was an Avatar for Khonshu.
I thought the "bridge" the brothers were trying to create to cross the "river" were just metaphors for The Veil and their perilous journey to conquer death.
"In time the brothers reached a river too treacherous to pass, but being learned in the magical arts the three bothers simply waved their wands and made a bridge." Perhaps the Brothers made the veil. Having started the department with its first mystery – to study death. progress made the hallows. Ending with the cloak with death reluctantly gave, suggesting the cloaks production was particularly difficult and no further progress was made after that.

the veil was there before the ministry of magic and death was real
Just did a test to see what house I fall into, apparently I'm a Ravenclaw lol

The theory about Death created the Veil is the best😊.
Death created the when he couldn't find the youngest brother, hidden by the cloak of invisibility!

I actually checked out a copy of "Tales of Beedle the Bard" from the local library. I read the story of the Deathly Hallows as allegory.
