  1. Amazing that the worst thing that could happen to Jones, would be a one year contract for 35 million $. Give me a couple of his paychecks and I can comfortably retire for the rest of my life.

  2. Sorry, fellas. Daniel Jones is just as talented as Trevor Lawrence and Josh Allen. If you give Daniel Jones a good offensive line and elite wide receivers, you will see what he can do.

  3. Smart move by Jones – the new agency got Dak his big money and other QB's huge contracts – hope they keep Jones/Daboll/Schoen together – and over the next three years should see growth and competitive football – Jones is only 25 – Mara will get it done in the end

  4. Lamar jackson better than justin Herbert or Josh Allen

  5. This was Jones 3rd best season for passing yards. He threw 13 TDs during the regular season. That’s 11 TDs less than Carr with fewer games. The coaching limited his mistakes. If he runs more than 25 yards he falls over and when throwing that distance his accuracy and touch plummets.

  6. Daniel Jones had fumbling problems in his first 2 seasons. He corrected that . 29 fumbles year 1 and 2. 13 for the last 2 years. That has to be factored into his career. He now holds the ball, and is a good QB. Accurate passer and mobile. If he has a big year next season, his price is going up.

  7. I agree that Jones is a B grade guy. He could drop to a C or go up to an A from there. Seems like he would improve with consistency and weapons. The thing is, guys like Kyler Murray are doing 46m per, 190m guaranteed long term. So for Jones to get offered like 36m per short term… I doubt that will get it done.

  8. You just argued against your own point of an agents value. Established agents are working relationships within the league and you may not get accurate info and they’re looking out for their bonuses more than the best interests of the client.

  9. Agreed for once with Boomer, Jones isn't A guy and A guys shouldn't be getting over $35 M. Jones gonna mess around and price himself out especially if I can get Carr at about that price to steer the ship til I'm ready to give up draft asset for my guy. Jones best place in NY , he need to read the room better

  10. You don't pay any player top money because that player had an average season. By all metrics Daniel Jones had an average season when compared to the top quarterbacks.
The numbers being thrown around fo DJ are ludicrous and I don't think there is any way Joe Schoen pays him top money

  11. Nah brah, the entire NFC south, the colts, raiders, jets, commnders. all could come calling on Jones. Maybe even Titans, Dolphins, Pats, Ravens. Jones did himself some good this season, and now they have to pay for what he's worth, since they didn't know what they had.

  12. Go DJ. The owner said they did nothing for him. No 5th year option. DJ owes the Giants nothing. Maybe the GM and coach are QB whispers. In that case get "your own guy" and DJ goes elsewhere.

  13. I wouldn't go past about $37M AAV for a long term contract for Jones. He's good, but not worth Allen/Mahomes money.

If you franchise tag Jones, he gets $32M and you're left with $12M for everything else. Then Golladay is cut, but designated post June 1 meaning his $14M dead money is spread out over 2 years instead of 1. Leo and Adoree are next for 1 year extensions at slightly lower salaries to ease their cap hit, and you're maybe in the $30M territory for cap space.

If you sign Saquon- you're not getting a LB or CB. That's the tradeoff.

The other option is franchise tag him and let his agent have 3 days to work out a deal and a sign and trade. If Carolina, Indy or Houston wants him and is going to pay him? Fine. I want their 1st round pick this year plus at least a 2nd round pick next year. And probably sending a 7th rounder this year for a 5th rounder as well.

Carolina might bite. Jones is from Charlotte, Reich is the coach and they're not gonna get Bryce Young or CJ Stroud. The Giants sign a stop gap to compete with Tyrod and they draft a QB next year.

  14. I think he realizes how much of a demand there is for a starting QB this year. They’ll still get this deal done, I would guess they’re gonna settle at something around 36-38mil/yr

  15. As an Eagles fan, if the Giants refuse to resign Daniel Jones, then the team can draft Tyler Van Dyke in the 2023 NFL Draft as their new starting QB in 2023 next season to play against my Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, Commanders QB Sam Howell and Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. Daniel Jones then can either sign with the Packers if Aaron Rodgers retires or the Buccaneers since Tom Brady retired. So Tyler Van Dyke will look great in an Giants jersey to replace Daniel Jones if Daniel Jones refuses to return to the Giants if an contract doesn't work out between them so Tyler Van Dyke will be an choice to be the Giants new starting QB in 2023 next season. So Tyler Van Dyke to be the Giants starting QB if Daniel Jones doesn't resign with the team.
