Operation Avalanche was not going well. Body counts were quickly adding up and the allied invasion of Italy at Salerno during World War II was looking like a failure. Objectives were being taken back and forth multiple times a day and green allied forces suffered against veteran german soldiers.
The Forgotten D-Day was coming to an end.

Can you talk about ww2 canadian history
Extra history tried to sneak in mad jack churchill thinking we wouldnt notice.
Man was insane for fighting with a claymore sword and a bow and still won
Eyy jack Churchill cameo
Mad Jack!!!
4;25
I see you, “Mad” Jack Churchill !
Was that Jack Churchill at 4:26??
It’s a creative lighter touch like having a couple mad jack cameos through the video that makes me love this channel ❤
Average 5CP match.
4:23 is that mad jack?
So, as someone who Strongly disliked CoH2 as a sequel to the original… is CoH3 any good?
These mfs were the only thing keeping me from absolute boredom during covid
…Why is there a British Commando with a friggin bow and sword?
was mad jack at salerno? or is that a fun easter egg
4:02: “Sherman Tanks,” *Shows an m10, “and some tank destroyers,” *Shows a Sherman
You put up the tank destroyer when you said Sherman, just in case this series gets a "lies" 😉
Liberate Italy? They were conquering Italy.
Is that Mad Jack?
5:20–5:37 that sounds awfully similar to the tactics employed by the Maori during the Tauranga campaign (particularly at Gate Pā)- the difference being that the Maori could simply make their own hills to bunker down in before retreating and doing it all over again
We caught them in the hills. For each enemy felled we lost three of our own. A heavy toll, but their Reich was lost to history on the backs of those dead men.
wearing radios where "hoplites" once walked? Hoplites are greek and I am unsure if Salerno was ever invaded/conquere/occupied by the greeks.
love u guys but u misspelled losses
great video .
I've seen a joke saying they called it Operation Avalanche was because it was like fighting against one.
Thank you for showing history in a neat way! Plus I only briefly learned about Italy in WW2 in a millisecond in school.
4:24
John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming Churchill
aka
Mad Jack, the man who fought with a longbow and a sword during WW2.
Mad Jack made a cameo
My grandfather was involved in this operation and his story is a little different. Also for the first half of the video the drawings you were calling Sherman's were actually Wolverine's (a very distinctive turret).
Mad Jack!
4:24 checking in on jack churchills any% bow&great sword run for WWII
Oh, hello Mad Jack…
Come over babe, new history lore just dropped
Do the History of the Shinobi
Ah yes Clark. Not fit for the position in hindsight
Jack Chruchill video when, would be interesting.
the High-effort art sprinkled through the vid adds a LOT of qualty
I appreciate the Mad Jack Churchill cameo at 4:23
4:23 Is that a Mad Jack Churchill reference?
On the topic of WWII history, I'd love to see a video about Joe Medicine Crow.
An absolute nightmare.
clark was an idiot
4:02 "A group of tanks and tank destroyers"
[Shows tank destroyer, then tanks]
6:57 the M3 knife portrayed actually has a bent cross guard rather than a straight one. Great video otherwise!
This is just amazing
so the battle was the real life equivalent of a capture point map in a video game?
It's interesting to look at the "Lessons Learned" section of this episode, in the context of the war in Ukraine.
Shoutout for Operation Mincemeat too!
