Enjoyed this look at Shawshank although I'm at a bit of a disadvantage since I haven't seen the movie. Seeing this makes me wonder, if this is what their prison looks like, what do their mansions in Mansfield look like?
Such a cool place! I’ve been there 3 times. Two of those times it was to run the race Shawshank Hustle!
Have the movie and love it!
Good info.! Group of ghost hunters were there. Can't remember how much they got though.
Love to see that y’all are posting again we have missed you. I understand your family has suffered a devastating time in your lives. Prayers to you and your family.
I was there too. As a inmate!
It was so cold one winter when I there we made fires in the toilet. The water was frozen.
Built in 1886 at one time it was the cell block tiers. 6 tiers high. I was there at age 20.
They weren't bunk beds they just bolted another bed the steel wall. I'm telling you now Clint Eastwood couldn't have got out of this place.
I remember I had the flu or something & I was real sick & they didn't even care. A guard gave me a Tylenol & said don't tell nobody I gave it to you. So on Saturdays & Sundays they gave us soup & sandwiches for lunch so I figured I'll take the Tylenol with soup & try to dr myself up. Well, word was passed around that a guy that worked in the kitchen pissed in all the soups. So much for a bowl of soup.
The Reformatory was scheduled to be torn down and was to the point that equipment was coming in when they got word that the production of the movie was confirmed. That stopped the demolition and the building was saved. Now it is supported by the entry fees.
Hey guys!!!
I gp there every year to the Inkcarceration Festival, Lots of Music and Tattoo's.
I wish I could have caught you live. I look at the reformatory different since my first Son Sammy been training to be a Corections Officer in Columbus Ohio. He excited and I am worried. I look at that impressive building and wonder what he would do. Crazy it has loads of history and I think that. I appreciate the work you guys are putting in and showing because now I am homebound and don't get out much ❤stay safe and huge hugs my dear friend
Excellent video, it’s so good to see all of you today. Thank you from Dayton.
