Its amazing they are still not judging the top 4… I am totally fine if India lose but they have to lose by a small margin and after making the opposition earn their victory, not being 150-5 against 470… All I hope or wish to see is a proper fight and not a collapse.
And this is not the first or second time in the recent past. 2017 Champions Trophy final, 2019 WC semi final, 2021 WTC final and now 2023 WTC final, all instances where our top 4-5 have collapsed on a big stage.
Especially in the longer format I cant understand how some of our best batsmen dont consolidate after losing the 1st or 2nd wicket… Even Australia lost 2 early wickets but look at what their best batsmen did.
The pitch is not horrible and its not like our batsmen dont have the skills to face their bowlers… Its the lack of application that hurts.

Australia knows how to win the ICC trophies better than any other team in the world. It reveals the character they show as a unit in these knockout games. Being an Indian fan it hurts to see the team getting brushed aside each time they step on the field. Unless senior players show some grit ,how will the juniors learn? Over dependency on lower order batsman and couple of bowlers wont help in long run.After a certain point its all about how strong you are mentally.

It’s unbelievable that they haven’t selected the best batsmen for india in the last two years. Aksar and ashwin. Its sad that the best batmen for india have been jadeja, ashwin, aksar and thakur. Thats how bad our top order is.
Indian top order is very ordinary and pathetic but they are overhyped before every match hence such collapses .
