There's a useful item you should be able to build that will tell you what kind of ore any of those boulders has in it before you start drilling. I want to say mineral detector? Something like that. Also I have seen others using that drill and crane on the large rover- you will see a green reticle when you're aligned to collect a rock, and dumping the rocks into that big ramp this gives you loads and loads of ore. It might be worth practicing on it a bit more to get the hang of it. I hope you're enjoying the game and I didn't spoil too much about it.
Good episode. Seems you have mastered the flying – I will need to conquer my apprehension and give it a go! Mining from the rover is pretty tricky, and I find the drill to be too powerful, so I break the full rocks into manageable chunks with the jackhammer – when you see the words “ready for loading” on those chunks stop drilling them – then I jump back in the rover and load them with the grabber. I believe you get much more resources but you can never be sure and of course you need either large of small crusher to load those rock in to. When you are hand drilling, you see lots of pieces flying off and sinking in to the ground. I suppose that using the crusher actually saves all that waste? As has been pointed out, use the hand scanner to determine what the rock is made of to save drilling and then finding eg iron inside.
Hey man tree seeds are found out in the world I have seen 3 different ones. The rover is hard to use but you get way more stuff when you are mining with it.
