  1. Ohh yay!!! So happy for your!! I know how you feel. I'm not a grandma, i'm a great Aunt and when my great little's run up with their arms open and they yell "Hi Aunt Kim", it feels so good to me.

  2. The giraffe blanket looks challenging but I'm sure you can handle it. I have start-itis again (still?) Started a vest but spent about an hour with the worst case of yarn barf I have ever seen. Haha!! How fun to have your grandson say your name. Grandkids are such a joy!

  5. That giraffe blanket is going to be so cute! My granddaughters started school this Monday. Their little brother has one more year at home. Babysat yesterday. The girls are so tired when they get home from school. Its always an adjustment after the summer. My husband and I are Grandma and Grandpa and my daughter's inlaws are Grammy and Papa. How cute that your grandson is saying your names now. Lots of special moments! I have made a few of Sara Sach's drawstring trinket bags. They're easy to make and I think they're cute. I'm going to try to finish some WIPs when I'm done with the bags. Take care!

  6. You had a few busy days.
I'm looking forward to the progress of your blanket.

I posted a few of my (overlay) mosaic blankets in your facebook group. With a short explanation of the technique.

  7. Great to see your projects & hear about your week! Very cute that your grandson called you Mimi for the first time…. very special! I'm still working on the Unicorn Bricks Baby Blanket & will be for a few more days! I've been finding it very therapeutic even though it's slow. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

  8. I didn't realize you're in San Antonio – I used to go visit there every year and it's my favorite place to go 💕– now my daughter goes on her own. Her dad lives there so I lost San Antonio in the divorce 🤣

  9. Great start of the giraffe blanket. I would also rather cut the yarn instead of carrying it along. It does create a beautiful pattern. So happy for you for being called Mimi for the first time. That is so cute.

  10. I am so excited to watch your progress on the giraffe blanket. I have also eyed that pattern for a long time, so I'll just live vicariously through you while you work on it. You are doing a great job. I agree with cutting the yarn every two rows. Like you say, just a waste of yarn and a hassle trying to carry it through. How lucky you are to have such a sweet little grandchild. I can only imagine how thrilling it would be to hear him call you "Mimi." Just too adorable.
