Is Antarctica a continent of the earth that no country controls? On the one hand, it seems that this continent has no history, but not so, Antarctica has a history, and quite interesting. The story begins with the colonization of East Antarctica by the Spanish Canistodores, who colonized Chile. After the fall of the empire, Chile and Argentina expanded their spheres of influence to these lands. In 1820, a Russian expedition discovered Antarctica and was the first to confirm the existence of this continent. During the British colonization, Great Britain occupies the southern part of the Continent, and soon it falls under the rule of New Zealand and Australia. In addition to Great Britain, French and Norwegian researchers became interested in the continent. Soon after the outbreak of the Second World War, Nazi Germany got plans to establish its colony on the territory of Antarctica and occupied the Norwegian sphere of influence, establishing a colony there – New Swabia. Soon the countries agreed on the neutral status of Antarctica
