Container Rolls Over on Hiking Trail Next to Live Train Tracks

Container Rolls Over on Muddy Trail Next to Live Train Tracks โ€“ 2023 is shaping up to be the year of our most difficult and challenging recoveries and rollovers ever. This one is no exception and EASILY takes the cake. We pride ourselves on working in limited areas such as near power lines or under bridges. But wow, this one took the crown in more ways than one.

For starters, it was next to a live train track. Then it was a non truck or car route, on top of the dirt being horribly muddy due to the rain. This meant we could not back up a truck to it, and had to superman the entire thing with just one truck. This is where Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator, really shines and shows how powerful she is. Youโ€™ll see from the drone shots how it was impossible to station another truck here, but Big Flipper was up to the task and performed flawlessly even with a full load in the container.

Tons of rigging, tons of winchouts of my own trucks and many hours later, this baby was upright and we were back on the road to the shop. The rain made it impossible for us to continue winching the tractor trailer, so my dad came back the next day for that part. My only regret was not taking better cover with the Sony, as it shorted on me due to the rain and me not having it covered. Other than that, what did you guys think of these insane job?

  1. Your dad has the biggest pair in the business. First time I seen a Rotator buried in mud. We aren't leaving until it's out.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

  2. One of the things large earth moving equipment has stored somewhere near work is walk boards, they are used when it is very muddy and the ground is saturated from excessive rain. It may be something to think about. you only needed about 5 , any large equipment such as excavators that have to work in very wet conditions have to keep them in stock. If you call around you can probably find someone to make them for you. They are even good in very sandy conditions also. PS: they last a long time even with heavy use once in a while. It is just bolted together 6×6 timbers cut to the length you would need for your biggest trucks.

  4. Wow what a wet mess. Iโ€™ve gotten plenty of bucket trucks stuck in the mud over the years. We always used a chipper truck to get us on stock lol. Meeting with a winch line.

  5. I donโ€™t know if you ever knew about this Josh , but there are mats that are made out of some kind of plastic. The tree people use all the time for mud. You lay them down kind of like 4 x 8 sheets of plyboard but you can work on top of them and you wonโ€™t sync in the mud.

  8. As a concrete mixer driver in Alaska I see this all the time, we throw our tire chains down on the ground. Ever consider buying an Oshkosh HEMTT A4 wrecker?

  9. A way to drive on mud. But you will ruin them. Get 6 sheets of 4 x 8 x inch and one eighth 241 flooring plywood. It has to be reall plywood Not ! particle board core. Drive up on one sheet for each side of the wheels of the truck. then place another set, drive on to them then put the third set down and drive on them then pick up the first set as it comes out from under the wheels and place it ahead of the wheels . keep it up and you will get where you need to go.

  10. That was an unholy nightmare , but you can see that Pops has the best ideas, as well as all your ideas got through the night. It's a shame the train couldn't help. That would be an awesome winch point, hehehe. How about a ๐Ÿ˜ฎSikorsky heavy-lift helicopter ๐Ÿš next time ๐Ÿ˜Š.
