  1. i dont know company of heroes 3 all that well, but CoH2 was my game for years so heres some generalized tips that might help.

    – your starting infantry are the most important units in the game. High veterancy infantry hit like trucks and are hard as nails, the only real way to get them is if your first two or three squads survive the midgame.

That said, the big weakness of infantry is that they are slow, this is easily exploitable if you find yourself behind on useful infantry.

-every faction generally plays to ww2 stereotypes. For example, the Sherman is kind of a middling tank but Americans are very good on the attack and with combined arms, the British are soft on the attack but their weapons teams and emplacements are strong. The Germans have strong offense but weaker defenses.

    – generally attacking the same place twice is begging to lose. The defender holds all the cards then and its easier to defend a small area. if you have to defend the whole map, you just cant do that as efficiently. Whereas, you can very easily attack any point but the one you just did on the map. so attack unpredictably as possible.

-attack the enemy base. CoH players find this to be BM but they shouldn't. especially if you have light tanks and the early game is over. sticking light tanks in a enemy base to harass reinforcements or pick off retreating units is a great way to force your opponents attention away from the front.

they don't have to stay there and die either, just the threat alone can often tilt people.

-upgrades before grenades. Grenades are good situationally, but a BAR or a Flamethrower or whatever other upgrade is good all the time, which is good, since they are around all the time if you keep your squads alive.

  2. Great stream/vid as always. I thought of a tip: When you were 1v1 with Prof, you shouldn’t have your tanks fighting side by side, but have one to the side so you can get side shots into the weaker armor.

Edit: I said with, but I meant into the side and fixed it.

  3. Repairing or building with units makes them take extra damage so avoid repairing/building under fire if you dont want to lose units quick. I saw you losing a couple engineer squads because they were repairing vehicles under fire.

  4. Thanks for the video, cool to see the game in action. Wow, the speed you guys click around the map and maneuver your troops is impressive. Makes me realize how bad I actually am, lol.

  5. Turin and Pwn's 1v1 match was sooo wholesome and brotherly – just like, absolutely NO salt whatsoever from the two of them, plus the enthusiastic back and forth banter – that the two of 'em just sounded like two bestfriends playing some casual LAN games during a sleepover. 😁

  6. For high level play, there probably isn't much from CoH 3 out yet, but I always really liked Tightrope Gaming, a guy from New Zealand who covered and still covers CoH 2. Probably will cover 3 as well. He streams himself playing sometime, and he's pretty good, but he's at his best casting, not the most high energy dude, but very knowledgeable about the game. If you're up for watching some CoH2 (alot of the ways people play the game should transfer in terms of fundamentals) check out casts of the later round tournament matches Master League (ML) and such, those usually have some excellent top level games.

  7. Oh yeah, and since you seem to like the fast light tanks, one thing to take note of is that many of the earlier German tanks (Marder, StuG, some of the Italian ones that Afrika Korps have) are actually assault guns and don't have turrets, they can only shoot things directly in front of them. All American tanks have turrets (and possibly all the British ones as well), so in the right circumstances, fast tanks like the Chaffee (which actually should have a pretty good gun for a light tank) should be able to outmaneuver them completely and stay out of their firing arc.

  8. Im going to go against popular opinion. I think ammo caches specifically can win you games in 1v1. Especially with your love for grenades. Being able to casually chuck sticky grenades, and pick up anti tank rifles across your army can give you a huge edge once you get to the tank battle stage of the game. And often you get to late game, both players have lost most of their army and it just desolves in a haggard slap fight over the vps. In those cases, an off map artillery or air strikes can straight up win you the game. Not every game, not every faction, not every map, and not every battlegroup. But there are plenty of games where a cache can be great. Even fuel caches for very specific builds.

  9. @Turin you can shift right click to queue movement commands, your scout squads capture territory quicker and can "back capture" while your riflemen and team weapons secure a front line.

  10. great video but the effects turned up a little bit more would be good, id like to hear some of the game audio. You need to focus on the objective points more, a few times I've seen you stand near them or run pat them and don't capture them.

  11. @Turin Hey buddy! Would you be able to do a short thoughts and impressions video when the tech test ends? I love the company of heroes games and would like to know your insight on this upcoming release. Keep up the amazing work brother!

  12. Lots of fun. In that first battle you brought engineers up to repair your light tank, and then drove away before they could repair it and it got killed. Your micro is almost too fast. But you'll get the hang of it. And it is great fun to watch.

  13. 3:04:14 the sniper was the MVP of that game he wasn't micro managed, got under fire multiple times (at least 4) and still got 3 chevrons what a beast too bad he didn't get any screen time

  14. Hey Turin, at 3:28:28 you can use attack ground by pressing E with yout mortar team. Same goes for AT weapons where you can attack ground into fog of war which is especially useful if you want to hit a retreating tank.

Another tip is if you issue your AT weapons an attack command onto abandoned team weapon using Q you can destroy them to prevent your enemy from retrieving them.

  15. Love the gameplay of this, but Turin, my dude, you’re killing me every time you don’t use cover when attacking enemies on an objective and just giving your units an attack+move command right up to the enemies as if they’re gonna go into melee. Still entertaining as hell though and hope to see it a lot more on the channel. I really wish you would give DoW2 another try, yes the sound bug can be frustrating but I was watching an Indrid vid recently when he mentioned he hasn’t had it happen in literally months after he messed around with the settings
