YouTube does your transcription for you! ❤😊❤ I think someone can do that for you! Plug & play sounds doable ❤😊❤
This isn’t going to help, lol, but I’ll love whatever you do within the realm of gospel study. 🙌🏼 I have learned so much from this channel and have strengthened my testimony through some of the concepts and models you’ve illustrated here that I have resonated with so much! (Proving contraries, vertical/horizontal faith, the creation/fall/atonement phases of our life, etc) So whatever you decide to do, I’m on board with! And I just found out from one of the YW in my ward that she’ll be taking one of your classes this semester. To say I’m jealous would be an understatement! 😅 Lucky girl! And she is as smart and grounded in the gospel as they come. Any chance she could bring me along as a friend the next time I’m out visiting from NC?? 😉
I’m set to look for theme by scriptural text sifting through the sections.
I am so glad I found you in the middle of the Book of Mormon. I am super excited about your ideas for the “shorts” and the idea of teaching in themes! Bless you for your diligence and your ability to teach in a way that touches my heart.
I will be following all 2025 Unshaken content. Thank you for all you do. I hope Shorter form will help my sweet husband start watching. He was Baptized last time we did Doctrine and Covenants. So this is going to be really special. Thank you Thoughtful Faith. I hope to also interact and give more feedback. Staying posted. ❤
When my great grandmother was a teenager she had a calling which was a new experience for her family. And someone was critical of the way she was serving and she got discouraged and wanted to give up. She has heard that if you had a problem that you can turn anywhere in the doctrine and covenants and get help. So she did and turned to a verse that said, “follow in the calling of which you have been called.” To make sure, she did it again and found a similar verse. I have been taught how to search (God may require more of me) but for a young girl who was not raised on knowing the scriptures that the doctrine and covenants helped her with her growing faith is beautiful.
I guess I'm an OG, having watched you from the beginning. I will continue to watch you regardless of the format. Of course, I will go back to the verse by verse because that's how I study. But I am looking forward to the daily dose as well. Thank you for all you do in bringing forward the gospel of Jesus Christ to our understanding.
Im looking forward to studying the Doctrine and Covenants, I spent 6 to 10 years away from the church, and during that time, I never read my scriptures.
Im ready to dive into them again and begin an amazing journey.
Thank you for your amazing gifts of sharing the scriptures. I worry about you being able to keep up with all that is involved with this gift. I will always welcome what you can share, and hope and pray your health and family will be strengthened and blessed as you serve.
My mom in her nineties wanted to do a road trip from Salt Lake City to Palmyra so she could worship in the temple there and visit the sacred spot where in the 50's she felt so powerfully the witness of the Holy Ghost "How Lovely Was The Morning".
A matron gave us a special tour. She said that when you are baptized in that particular font for those passed on, look up and notice the canopy of leaves in stain glass like Joseph Smith would have viewed in the Sacred Grove when he came to himself. Notice the clear glass on the far side from the recommend desk that enables all within the temple to see the Sacred Grove across the road.
She loved every minute. Totally worth the effort. Just a hop skip and a just from Niagara Falls too.
❤️💛💙
Thank you Brother Jared for teaching these Scripture studies with us over the last 5 years. I’ve watched every podcast and have learned so much. I feel much closer to God now and I’m looking forward to another wonderful year of D&C study. Blessings to you and your family. 🙏🏻❤️
I am so grateful for your lessons. This is the only way for me to have access to teaching of this quality and I feel inspired, motivated and hopeful that I can progress in my personal studies as well as share with my family and in my callings. Thank you 🙏 ❤
You're a great teacher and a good man. Thank you for giving us more.
The concept of the Doctrine and Covenants being a capstone is very interesting. Which other volume of scripture contains fully questions asked directly of God? It is a complete volume of being in direct, personal conversations with Him, as is described in other volumes of scripture. It's like we've ascended to God's presence to now speak with Him directly, not further away from! Just like an endowment session… which part would be considered the 'capstone' of the ceremony?
One request Brother Halverson. At the end of the podcast could you recap the “7” bullet points. Thanks for everything!!
Thank you for all your service and sacrifice in helping us study God’s word and works!
This is a very cherished resource I use for personal study, gospel Doctrine and substituting seminary. Happy to consume in any and all formats.
If I'm honest, I hate the D&C. I don't see a loving, merciful Savior. I see a very ostere and punitive God. If you can help me find Jesus in the D&C, that would be lovely.
Yay! Let's do this:)
Hands-down, yes please make the little clips. On the regular, I am screen recording little bits from your YouTube podcast, and I save it into a folder in my videos titled Unshaken. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and understanding of the gospel is an absolute gift for me.
Love this idea for daily study!!! Thank you
I love your lessons. Thank you 🙏
Another year to study the gospel with you! 🥰Thank you for sharing your gift of teaching with me and so many others. My testimony has grown with each year and is an incredible blessing. I love your idea of 7 "daily doses" as well as always including your older extended versions. Looking forward to an amazing year in Doctrine & Covenants!
I wish to learn more about the Doctrins & Covenants & because of your teachings, the Book of Mormon has become my favorite scripture. I am now excited to study, with you D&C! Thank you so much for your insights & positive attitude! I am grateful for you! Keep it going!
That’s a wonderful plan! Thank you for all your efforts!
What! I love the Doctrine and Covenants! I just love church history and I am so excited for this year!
I absolutely love the Doctrine and Covenants. So much wonder and amazing Doctrinal Revelations from Heaven. I am so excited for this ! Thanks Jared for doing this Bicentennial podcast, it was wonderful !!!
Thank you for all your awesome lessons. I love your new ideas!!! We are retired and have a lot of time! Thank for making the 4 years ago podcasts available for us!!! Long and short and daily podcasts make us all happy. Thanks for sacrificing your time. You are the BEST!!🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
The trees of the Sacred Grove…. Oh, if only they could speak like the Ents in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings!
Dear brother Halverson,
I have studied with you since you started your channel. You have been a great blessing to me and my whole family. Everyone knows what "Jared" is teaching that particular week. My granddaughter has been your student at BYU for three semesters and loves not only your classes but also the tender care you show to all your students. Everyone feels like he/she is the "favorite". I love the idea of having something to study every day and we pray for you to receive the comfort and wisdom from Heavenly Father that you need to do such a demanding work. Thank you for ever more!
I have loved your videos! I love both the short and long formats.
I have never read D&C in its fullness. I am very excited to learn more about this wonderful book. ❤❤❤
THANK YOU FOR "SOLDIERING ON!"
can't wait for this year!
100% agree, a daily devotion piece would be amazing! Thank you so much.
I'm excited to get started this year. i appreciate all you are doing and like the long version. i joined the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers over 20 yrs ago and have many family histories and am looking forward to really delving in! I'm 85 yrs old and have learned more in the last few years than I ever have. My prayer each day is to keep my testimony strong and you are helping me with that. Thank you so much. Love you dear brother.
Grateful for you!!! I'm all in with what you decide. Several times last year I did go back and listen to the longer version. For me I like the shorter and I'm excited about the dailies you mentioned. But seriously whatever works for you! This must be like having another full-time job! Please tend to your family first, and then your employment, and then us.
Dear Brother Jared. Your plan for the New Year’s resolution of scripture treasures sounds absolutely wonderful for personal study, class teaching treasures whether in callings or at home is so exciting. As in all your teaching I wouldn’t miss any of them, week by week. Please do get help from technology though, it all sounds dazzlingly time consuming…greater not lesser demand on your time and family. Your testimony, your knowledgeable spirit and open ears too the voice of the Spirit has touched my heart and scripture study as never before! I have been teaching the gospel for over half a century, and have never failed to learn, feel, ponder and progress in closeness to our Master. Thank you is just too little to express my gratitude but as Nephi expressed, it is all we have. God bless your continuing mission , now strengthening thousands! Glory be to the Lord, and to His chosen teachers. How we love you; How we thirst afterHis Word.
Daily devotions- I love it! I’m on board 🤍👍
What a marvelous and uplifting podcast! Thank you so much—it has deeply touched my heart. With love and gratitude, your brother from Brazil.
thsi is the foundation of the church its all awesome thank you
I appreciate your videos so very very much. Thank you for sharing your spirit and your knowledge it is priceless.❤❤❤
Thank you, Bro Halverson for all you do. I have learned so much from your videos of the scriptures. Serving in Primary, I miss the Sunday School scripture discussion. Your videos are my Sunday School study. Thank you, virtual hugs🤗🎶
It sounds like a plan of action. I hope you can work on. You have to do what you can do. I also listen to Smith and Bytheway podcast and they are continue to do it with different guests. Adding guest speakers might break up a bit.
Joseph Smith went into the woods before he started his mission. Moses went into the desert before he started his mission. Jesus Christ went into the wilderness before He started His mission. Interesting pattern.
Section 1:39 is my first theme that stands out in my mind as a promise from the Heavenly Father and His Son and the Holy Ghost is with me always ,as I walk through the end of the year towards the beginning of the year 2025.
DARN! I only got about half of the seven points. Could you list them again please just in a reply. I have #1, the first vision is worth celebrating. #2, young Joseph Smith trusted that God would direct him. #3, apostasy was worldwide. #4, heavenly messengers came to instruct Joseph, to reestablish the church, and to restore authority. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ or maybe list them on a graphic as you're talking? One of your super famous lists? ♥️🧡
Love your ideas for continuing your passion of teaching the scriptures! I like the “ dual approach”
thanks so much!
Prospero Ano Nuevo Hermano Halverson!❤️
On your next cycle I'd like for you to take a concept or topic taught from that weeks scriptures, but instead of just focusing on that book of scripture, I'd like to see you do an intertextual delivery of that concept from all the scriptures.
Dear beloved, brother Jared, I love the D&C!!! I love being able to learn from you in whatever manner best suits you. I am grateful for your perspective and insights over the years and am very mindful of the sacrifices you have made to be able to reach out and share with us all that you have shared. You do, indeed, have an incredible gift in the way you teach . It is very apparent that you were saved for this day, for such a time as this, and for this very purpose. Your intensity and energy drive you to fulfill your purpose to share our Savior and His gospel with everyone! It is a wonderful thing to see!!! Your love for others is also apparent. You don't need to worry about being good enough. Because you are. Just remember, "Balance, Grasshopper. Balance."😅❤
I praise God that you plan this wonderful study. God will give each of us the strength to immerse ourselves in His word.
