Colorado Deputies Rescue Bear Cub From Dumpster

Officials in Douglas County, Colorado, had to help a black bear cub escape after it got stuck in a dumpster while looking for food. A deputy from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office worked with Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers to make sure the cub had a safe exit.

The group built a makeshift bridge by using part of a nearby fence, and the cub successfully climbed out and found its mother.

The sheriff’s office said in a statement, ‘The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office would like to take this opportunity to remind residents and visitors to exercise caution when encountering wildlife and to report any instances of trapped or distressed animals to the appropriate authorities. Deputy Jazombek also wants to remind residents and visitors to dispose of food and trash properly to avoid attracting bears into our neighborhoods.’
