Coal kiln firing process for terracotta pottery

Currently listed as an industrial monument, the video describes in detail the firing process the terracotta pottery goes through in the massive, down draft, three fire box kiln.

Gabriel Nichols is a potter with 40 years experience in the industry, currently producing a range of garden pots; from tiny Longtoms to enormous pots for trees, alongside commissions for bricks, chimney pots and roof tiles. In keeping with traditional methods is the material, all the clay is locally sourced ‘wild’ clay dug from the South banks of the Humber Estuary.
