  2. Great documentary. I live myself in a remote little village in Greenland with white polar bear, and people leaving little by little. γ‚γ‚ŠγŒγ¨γ†γ”γ–γ„γΎγ—γŸγ€‚

  4. Wow. What a vlog, what a story and wow, the love this gentleman has for his life here and the village. Even watching this from afar, the bittersweet was clearly evident showing the journey that life is. Thank you for sharing. Humbling! πŸ™

  5. The fact that Japan is the third biggest economy, one of the most developed and technologically advanced countries in the world and yet literally has hidden mountain villages is nothing short of mythical.

  6. He has such love and is so happy to show off his home and childhood village. It is very sad that he might not be returning. At least the future generation can see this video and see and hear the stories and memories that he shared. They will not die as long as this media is still around, and a part of Izumi san will continue to live on.

  7. Norm, this was an absolutely beautiful video, and not just because of the gorgeous cinematography or the compelling subjects. It is so evident that this man desperately loves his home and is sad to see it disappear…and he lives with the knowledge that when he dies, the village dies with him. But you have preserved the memory of this place and this man forever, potentially. He will not be forgotten. His family, his friends, and his village–they live on because you went to the effort, 5+ months of it, to make this for the world. Thank you, Norm.

  8. I must have missed this when it was released, but I watched it today. What an adventure! This man is a wonderful part of the history of the village and countryside he loves. I'm so glad we got to meet to him and learn from him! I hope he stays well and safe, and that you get to see him again soon. Thanks for the video, I loved it!
