Hello and welcome to Cinema Season 16!
• Cinema is a /r/ultrahardcore Recorded Round in which each season aims to replicate a popular piece of film
• This season was based on The Martian (2015), the Ridley Scott sc-fi movie about saving Matt Damon from space! During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meagre supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.
• Explanation of the gamemodes:
– Teamsize | Whilst it’s a To4 players will start the game split up in two worlds, the Mars world will have a stranded solo, and the vanilla world have the To3. The solo does not know what team they are on and the To3 does not know who their 4th member is.
– Vanilla World & Monuments | This world is completely vanilla except for the fact that the map has 0 DIAMONDS in it, so players must rely on their solo for gear. In this world, players must go to monuments located at 250, 250 and -250, -250 to acquire items to make the ‘player tracker’, which is a compass that will point you to your teammate once you are teleported to the Mars world in Episode 4.
– Mars World | The world is completely red and barren, only consisting of ancient Martian temples and bases set up by humans. These bases will have chests, with the ones located in the Home base at 0,0 refilling every 2 episodes. Mars has diamonds under its surface so it’s the job of this player to survive on limited rations and get gear for the rest of the team before they can finally meetup in Episode 4.
