I absolutely love having Troy here to give his thoughts from an actors perspective. Some of my favorite part of this episode were the very subtle looks and faces Troy and the actor who played David use to provide a ton of character depth and silent storytelling. Absolutely amazing
29:15 what did troy just say
👁️👄👁️
Everytime it goes to the two shot on Andy when he didn’t even ask the question I laugh😂
I'm really interested in next episode where they have to show why the cure is needed because it sure as hell have not been shown here. Outbreak had been so downplayed.
Loved your death scene Troy, very violent!
So excited for next weeks episode. I'm a little disappointed there was no cum gum reference during the breakdown with Troy though ha. Keep up the great work guys!
Everyone's favorite 'The Last Of Us' character: Buddy boy
Troy Baker could read me my itemized deductions and I’d listen to the whole thing as a podcast and click the sponsor link
I've loved Bella from moment one! The first episode when she kicks the tray and starts counting, I saw Ellies essence on my TV.
The big negative of the show is the lack of infected action scenes there has only been two scenes
I love how Joel isn't saving her from the danger, rather he's saving her from having to do horrible things, or being alone after having done them
Sponsored by Shady Rays?? Oof. I just canceled an order from them.
Amazing get for Tim and Blessing to have one of the most talented and accomplished voice actors in gaming on the show, and it’s great to see Troy Baker on here too!
Man Troy along with Ashley have become so prolific with this franchise…I will say man I wish people would be including or acknowledge Bruce he was a huge part of the OG Game. But it’s nice to just see how this game has become everyday convo. My wife just out of nowhere after shopping yesterday asked “who’s Ellie’s mom?” “They never say” “ really was she special ?” “No idea”…I’m replaying pt 2 today just messing around and my wife is like no what tye hell you said we’d replay the games together…. MAN I BEEN WAITING FIR 10 years to hear this lol
23:00
I could listen to Troy talking about TLOU all day bro
This was aweseome, thank you KF!
I just love these guys. Tim especially is just so damn great at entertainment analysis. He's really clever and has an overall beautifully holistic viewpoint. Just great to watch. I really really do wish that for a channel called Kinda FUNNY that he was actually funny, tho. He still just has no ability whatsoever to entertain through jokes. He is nice and says things that are true. Always. To a fault. But you know what jokes are? They're lies. A priest and a rabbi and an Imam didn't LITERALLY walk into a bar. I hate to break it to you but making up stories and absurd alternate versions of the world is the funny part. Tim laughs at jokes. He just never actually SAYS any. It's a shame. If he ever found that skill he would be truly next level. Until then, as a fan, I can live with "nice" and "true" 💙💜
I'm sad to say that I was actually surprised (after all these years of enjoying his work) that Troy is a great actor! He has the subtlety and nuance and presence of a truly skilled actor. It was a nice surprise for sure. Never for a second was I like "oh he is doing an acting!". Just top notch stuff.
WAS THIS NICK OR NOT I WAS SO CONFUSED
Good episode but David wasn’t cast right, he wasn’t scary or creepy and the reveal to the body parts on floor just didn’t hit as it should.
31:25 I disagree that the lines or scenes haven't hit me in the show compared to the game. I think the game scenes were better. My only criticism
A great episode of a great TV show but to me the game still hits harder on most fronts. I also don't think it's fair to say "it hasn't been as violent because it's not a game" we've seen several shows not shy away from violence, especially on HBO.
When David said he always had a violent heart and was essentially built for the apocolaypse, it reminded me of Daryl Dixon. I always loved how Daryl was just a redneck nobody before the apocalypse but an absolute baddass after. David is the evil counterpoint as his dark nature is more accepted and useful to him in the post apocalypse
SPOILERS FOR FINALE
What I find particularly interesting is how everyone fails Ellie as a parental figure but Joel (he essentially does too good of a job). David tries to take advantage of and abuse her and Marlene attempts to kill her to formulate a cure without informing her (she also betrays her friend/ellie's mom). People love to say that Joel is the villain, but when you break it down, David and Marlene failed as leaders, Joel did not.
I know we've praised Bella, Pedro, Nick Offerman, Murray Bartlett, Anna Torv etc but can we all just agree right now that the Emmy should absolutely be going to Nick Scarpino for that performance! Talk about expanding on a character from the game and giving him life! 👏 🏆
Goddamn I LOVE Troy!
I didn't like how Troy/James immediately died, especially after the guy Joel stabbed through the neck had such a realistic portrayal of agonizing death.
There ain't no way this doesn't kick start Troy's live acting career.
Oh man, they should have included the flashback when the group arrived at the resort, rather than start with the Bible reading scene. I think that would have show more humanity as well as how far they have fallen.
Great to see Troy Baker on the show to give insight and behind the scene info.
Nick lost 30lbs and skipped leg day for his performance
You could get a good look a TBone by stickin your head up a bulls ass, but wouldnt you rather take the butchers word for it?
Love a Tommy Boy reference
