  1. LOL.. the Christian mythology all stems from the writings of Josephus, who was an academic very closely associated with the Roman aristocracy in particular the Ruling Flavian family. In the third century Josephus made up the story that we now mistakenly associate with the "jesus" myth. The story actually relates to Titus as being the son of God, being Titus father etc etc . Anyway once you know the truth it all makes much more sense than the BS ridiculous ✝️ Story…

  2. Well said Britt! I think it's important to say that mis/distrust of religious institutions doesn't equal hatred for people who carry faith. I'm an atheist but I couldn't possibly hate people of faith… unless they try to take my rights and the rights of people I love. If you step to them with jesus as an excuse, we have a problem. Over-writing the rights of women to manage their own bodies "cos jesus" … welp you're on my shit list. If religious people would like to police their own in that regard? have a field day. if you want to impose that on the rest of us? Nope.

  3. re: "Shogan" by James Clavell, a novel set in the Year Of Our Lord 1600, back when the Catholics and Protestants were not playing nice together for political as much as theological reasons. One of the characters is Vasco Rodrigues, the pilot (navigator plus) of the Potuguese 'Black Ship' who says to the protagonist John Blackthorne: 'You're an Inglis (Englishman) and a heathen Protestant, but you're a pilot and all pilots should love all pilots forever, amen.' Or words to that effect.

Heathen Protestant. I rather like that. — ✌👤

  4. No one needs any Religion of any-kind… all you need to know is the very simple basic truth… and that is "the difference between RIGHT & WRONG" and having a good pure and a true Moral Compass in all things… anyone who reads the bible everyday that is all written by thee Secret Societies of MEN who are all in the VATICAN who then Created many other Religions across many other countries to keep people Divided from each other…. murder rape theft and many other sick things are done on the NAME of Religion… they even pray before they g to war to murder rape and steal from another….

  5. Gotta work on your audio mix some, Britt. I can hear George just fine, but I could barely hear your commentary at all. It sounded like you were talking through a drinking straw from 250 miles away.

  6. religion for 2000 years was brutal, anyone who disagreed was at times killed. only in the last 100+ years were they meek and mild. that had to be

  7. I'd admire you more after this reaction. I've been an atheist for over 50 years and have often been picked on because of it. Opera picked on atheists and implied we can't have morals. I don't have any respect for her anymore. She insulted a 70 yr old atheist on her show. I respect your believes , I just don't share them I choose to base everything on evidence, that's all. But the fact that you can still laugh at George's stuff is admirable. I am of British decent and we're taught to laugh at ourselves. For the most part Americans aren't in my experience. So kudos to you. And btw I love your smile and when you laugh – so contagious. Thanks for all the entertainment you provide and, in all sincerity, may God bless you.

  8. I don't think there are books that will support his views since he's just telling us his beliefs and not putting them out there like they are facts.

  9. One thing you missed is that George Carlin actually went to Catholic school.
If you follow him more you will come across a joke going "Christians gave God the Sunday off, Jews gave God the Saturday off, Muslims gave him the Friday off… God had 3 days off"
Joe Pesci is a legendary actor. Check out the film "Goodfellas".
Carlin was more than a comedian, he was a modern day prophet. His later works were hard to understand when they first aired, but if you watch them now he is spot on on what is happening today.

  10. All Christians so in other words you are a freak n a half since you did too much with church attending and yes-All Christians are low key Sun worshippers because the main two holidays would not exist w/o the Suns position relative to the earth

  11. Your take on religion being a personal faith is great, I used to be a staunch athiest, then got interested in the occult and although I still believe it's mostly psycological, definitely recognise the positive mental effect that faith and belief of any kind can have including Christianity. I've have friends and family who are Christain and we all get on well, I'd never try to attack anyone for being religious just because I'm an athiest or occultist, I'll only argue back if they come at me all preachy.

  12. I find it really odd when people step away from religion – yet still believe in the things invented by religion. It's not like there was some pure nonreligious form of God and then it became religion. It was religion from the start. Religion and God never existed separately and if you weren't told the story of whichever God you believe in from that religion, you wouldn't believe in it. The, "I decided that a bunch of things are obviously false in this religion, so I'm just going to cut those parts out and be a nonreligious God believer", just genuinely confuses me completely.

Especially coming from a black perspective, it's particularly, I find the idea that the God the Europeans used to justify enslaving us and then forced us to convert to believing while enslaved, or in many cases in Africa conquered, especially hard to accept. If slavery and colonialism hadn't happened practically none of us would be Christian.

Not directed at you specifically if you read this, just a general reaction I always have to this viewpoint. A lot of my friends have it too.

Believe what you believe because it makes you a better person and allows you to smile so beautifully in this @$$@$ up world.
