  1. This is one of the first and few times I find myself in disagreement with Chris … over his “historical” recounting of the Opium Wars (situation).
I’ve only studied this off and on for 50+ years from several points of view including preserved original accounts some of which were translated.

  2. @7:00 NOT ENTIRELY true – the opium was distributed by the Chinese elite — who were barely unaffected by the addiction living inside their class-buffer. Do you think this would be any different this time?

  3. Hi Chris. I like and respect your contents. You do try to expose the double talks and standards of China. Much needed. Appreciate it. But, can one forget how the evil Brits, made China addicted to Marijuana and Cocaine. I am sure you will know it. Is it possible that China is returning the favour. After all is it not but true that the wretched Brits and their CIA cousins in the US has been using drugs all over the world to subvert nations, their character and culture and in the process undermine their sovereignty. I think you should talk about it too. Moral of the story being, you reap what you sow. I am not supporting China for all their evil deeds including but not limited to promoting drugs, especially in the US. But to play the victim card in perpetuity, especially when they are the inventors of this method cannot be endorsed. US crying wolf will not wash.

  4. Opium became popular in China long before the import of the opium. When people began to forget, they took that advantage to blame it as if they were victims, they made trouble themselves. Opium war is a word game to blame the West while making themselves sound like victims, just like COVID, after decades, when another generation arises, they will play it as if a biological war against China if the CCP or another dictatorship is still there.
