US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi concluded her Taiwan visit amid sharp reactions from China. Pelosi landed in Taipei on Tuesday night and met Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen reiterating US commitment towards the island’s democracy. Irked by Pelosi’s visit, China held military drills near Taiwan’s shores. Meanwhile, Southeast Asian foreign ministers will seek ways to help quell the diplomatic storm over Taiwan at regional talks today.

I am surprised how Gao only talks about breaking rules by speaker when US adheres to one China policy. China signed a series of agreements with PVNR government in 95 but their military does salamy slicing violating agreement. These policies and agreements are only worth the paper they are signed on. In reality bigger powerful countries keep asserting themselves as they grow more powerful
