This looks so uninspired and boring, and all these "recharged" games looks like they came out of the same cookie cutter package, an easy pass for me – and I loved the original.
I love games like this. I'd put it on my vertical arcade cabinet. Hopefully it has a TATE mode.

Uh… Caverns of Mars was never a "classic 2600" game. It was a user-submission to the Atari Program Exchange (APX) that did so well Atari bought it and made it a regular release for the Aari 400/800 computers.
It was an "indie game" of it's time programmed by Greg Christensen in 1981! published by APX, then Atari itself in 1982
(current gamers may want more enemy ships! though the original was focused on the cavern itself.)
