  1. Did he say a 3 engine fekkin monoplane – sounded humerus, i reckon it was Focker! Great video thanks, pity we have lost our manufacturing and i hope they don't get rid of coal fired power stations as we need a Base-Load to help with renewables!

  3. Those days after the First World War when Australia was prospering and we manufactured just about everything, “Buy Australian” was the slogan but what happened in the last few decades? We can lay the blame directly with the weak majority of our Australian politicians of all persuasions selling us out with all manner of very questionable and unfathomable decisions that have affected each and every Australian citizen over relatively recent years, everything from the “ Lima Agreement” to shutting off all tariffs ti closing our Automotive manufacturing with the multitude of employment that went with it and God help all of us here if there is another major world conflict that seems possible with the current Ukraine/ Russian war and with China waiting for its opportunity to take on Taiwan, Yep it’s not a matter of If but a matter of When something will happen, we need to take our heads out of the mud also by ceasing manufacturing vehicles in Australia we have also compromised our ability to defend ourselves if conflict arises as our auto makers like Ford and GM-H changed over to making Tanks, Ships, Aircraft and Engines even our Victorian Railways were manufacturing as part of the War effort just to name a small few of our organisations involved, even our Airlines like ANA were involved with aircraft repair work for the military the likes of the USAAF during WW2, no my Grandfather a World War One Gallipoli veteran of the 12th was a sergeant in the Australian army and was one of the lucky ones to land there fight there and leave there would be turning in his grave if he could see what Australia has become by this year of 2022! I’m a passionate Australian and I think it’s unfortunate to see what mostly our lacklustre Politicians have done to our once proud nation! I lay the blame with them entirely at their feet with so much corruption around in State and Federal arenas what bloody hope have we got!????

  4. What about all the thousands of First Nations people, the aboriginals, thrown off their lands and slaughtered by the hundreds? Was that in the minds or memories of those who formed the Federation of Australia? I don’t think so. The National Apology of 2008 and the ongoing process of Reconciliation have helped start the process of mending the many harms done to the aboriginal people in the first 200 years of European settlement of Australia. But there is still a long way to go. ☝️

  5. Wonderful video of the first 50 years.
Well I came here in 1972 from England and so that is 50 years.
I knew much about Australia as my dad came to Australia in 1937 aged 15 and he lied about his age and served in the 2nd 33rd battalion so went to the middle East and PNG.
He went back to the UK after WW2.
Since 1972 we have given up so much and less self sufficient, globalisation is the new way.
I think we need to be wary of being held to ransom by countries who can cut off supply.
We only need to look at sanctions against Russia and the Russian response at turning off vital gas supplies to western Europe.
Sadly it is hard to buy anything now without hinese origins.
We can and should learn from history
