Hi JT, there was a man born in a local village where my sisters family live, who fought at Arnhem, Major Allison Digby Tatham-Warter. From this channel, search, "The Paratrooper Who Fought With An Umbrella and Bowler-Hat.
My uncle was a UK paratrooper in WWII, he was dropping behind enemy lines not long before the was ended, he was shot through the spine and paralysed, he lived for 10 more years before dying from complications from the injury.
He took part in the first Wheelchair Games doing archery, he was also a really good swimmer even though he was paralysed from the waist down, the Wheelchair Games later became the Paralympics, I have some wonderful newspaper photos of him and the team.
They were very brave men.
That was really interesting 😊
There you go JT, for your next charity sponsored thing (like the fur babies) you could do a sponsored para jump! What do you say?
Although why anyone wants to jump out of a fully working plane is beyond me 😳
They're 100% bad ass. Why would any sane person jump out of a perfectly good aircraft
