Cat Cafe Maui – Celebrating 50 off Island Adoptions

Chewy and Cassandra’s Reunion

Cassandra survived the Lahaina fire last year, yet she thought she lost Chewy, her cat of 8 years. But six months later, she spotted Chewy in our window! He needed to be flown to Michigan to live with his Grandma, and with the help of this generous couple, who rearranged their own flight path to escort Chewy to be reunited with his Grateful Grandmal!

Dorothy, Charlie, and Denise

Denise spotted Dorothy, a one-eyed black cat, on our Instagram account, and knew instantly she wanted to be her mom! She flew all the way to Maui to adopt Dorothy, where she also met Charlie, Dorothy’s boyfriend–so she adopted them both! This new family flew to New Orleans, Louisiana, together to live happily ever after!

Zap and Jenna

This couple fell head over heels for sweet Zap, but how to transfer him home to Arizona? The hero of this story, the Director of the Lanai Cat Sanctuary, made sure Zap was safely able to reach his new parents and enjoy the comforts of his new home.

Magpie, Worm, and Anna

Anna lost everything in the Lahaina Fire, but six months later, she stopped by our cafe and fell in love with this bonded pair. Worm has one eye and three legs, and he scored the life of a King along with his Queen, Magpie. Together all three moved to their new home in Portland, Oregon. Congratulations!

These six adoptions means we’ve now reached 50 mainland adoptions since August of 2022!

Every off-island adoption truly helps with the overpopulation of cats on Maui. So we invite you to consider adopting a special island cat to make them part of your family. Mahalo Nui Loa to Hawaiian, Delta, and Alaska Airlines for making these miracles possible.
