I agree with you on the player elimation. Not my favorite mechanic. I definitely think, with player elimination, that playing with fewer people is the way to go. Playing with 8 players, I feel like the game would drag on for way too long and I'd feel bad for how long the eliminated players had to sit around and wait.
Nice overview! We are about to play our first round this weekend. The hex tiles should have the specials written on them so you don't need the hex tile guide to remember those special features.
I agree completely. The hex tile bonuses are interesting but not at all intuitive. The hell in going to pass around that tiny booklet all game, but if you use bonuses other than the central tiles, you have to. And the "battle royale" aspect is interesting but mean.
