  1. I was keeping a casual eye out for Nanokin via your coverage, due to its similar art style to Cassette Beasts. But now I'm invested, due to monster customization also being visual.

Just hoping for a banger soundtrack, intriguing story, and satisfying combat. Gonna be hard to keep my expectations low now… XD

  2. Lumentale and Myth Caller here out of that list as those will come to Xbox. Nanokin and Disc Creatures is out as PC only, EvoCreo possibly out as my phone doesn't run Pokemon Masters as an Xbox main but who also has a Switch.

  3. Honestly, despite loving the battles and the mechanics I did not play Cassette Beasts for these. Nor for the monsters. I played it for that survival like aspect, open world nature and also the social sim side of the game. To me, this game is more like a Persona game than Pokemon. I love Cassette Beasts and there is no need to have another game like it, as long as I have it it is enough. And this way I can look into other monster taming games for the other reasons not for the ones I love Cassette Beasts for.

  4. I think Nanokins still need a storepage.

Well i only found a reason to be interessted in Mythcaller later, which i forgot but i keep an eye on it.
Beside that If I play a Disccreaturw Game then probably only this one.
I'm also interessted to see if Nanokins is overall actually good.

I think there are one or two games missing which i enjoy as well, but i should currently have followed them all as far as it's currently possible.

I don't think the Lumentale Intro was to long only slightly towards the end.
That might be good for a later point in the game

  5. Disc Creatures was so good. It's opening (Chapter 1) admittedly tricked me into thinking it was a linear poke'clone, but Chapter 2 was so damn good and really showcased what the game was on about.

  6. for the record, you keep calling things 2.5D… most of what you call that isn't though. just because a game has 2D sprites in a 3D world, that does not make it 2.5D. 2.5D games usually refer to a 3D world that you can only interact with in 2 dimensions. two examples of this are kirby 64 which despite the fact it has fully 3d models is a 2.5D game as you can only interact in 2 dimensions, and the klonoa games. a good example of a game you might think is 2.5D is demon's turf. all the characters of that game are 2d sprites, but the game itself is actually a 3d platformer.

  7. Nanokin is the one I have an eye on, as well as disc creatures.

Casette beasts works for many reasons, the artstyle and designs hold its own and is not just a deviation on pokemon.

The mechanics are supercomplex and fun to mess with as well as the powers.

The soundtrack is amazing and its one of those few games that made me consider buying it.

It excels at his genre, but its a mid platformer in the overworld, also godot as am engine holds it back tremendously in performance for consoles.

Its one of the few indies were I would directoy buy a sequel. No questions asked.

  9. Ed you big silly these were already on my radar! Due to how great the original disc creatures was, I'm looking forward to Disc Creatures World most, but Nanokin is probably second for me.

  10. Cassette beasts was SOOO good. I hope it has a sequel but even if it doesn't I'd say it was a huge success ❀ I hope LumenTale is just as good as Pkmn XenoVerse. I'm hoping that monster taming becomes more than just pokemon

  11. Cassette Beasts (though a lot of love went into it) let me down. Fusion gauge takes far too long to change AND I had to find out the hard way that fast travel resets the gauge.
