Is there any actual mechanical difference between the characters? I assume different base stats but other than that and needing them for their quests do they have affinities with certain beasts or something?
Call me basic, but I do like Kayleigh (she ended up being the one I pursued a romantic interest in).
As for the bonding, it's quite easy to accelerate, simply through battles (specifically with rouge fusions) and then resting.
This simplicity is both good and bad imo, as I had some mild, personal disappointments with it, in relation to the ending, which I'd like to discuss with you when you post your ending thoughts vid.
When you start dating one of the character your camping goes from 2 tents to one tent, which I think is a nice touch.
Can you make a video on bootleg odds and if there's any ways to increase them and even how they may look in the overworld?
I ended up completing Eugene’s hearts first. His signature monster hits like a truck. I enjoyed the interactions but it felt largely surface level. I’ve finished three characters so far but this seems to be the trend for the companions. I wish there were more interactions with the characters outside of their general archetypes.

Amazing game, great story, great concept, great characters, 9/10 why? because of one thing (spoiler alert) when you finish the game you finally get to go home, but i have one problem…. So far I think I've found everyone but Viola. Been struggling to try and do Eugene and Meredith's quests cause I can't find a way up yet to the Landkeeper bases or to the mall. I have yet to find what monster I need to get to scale walls, cause I do see those vines and I think I need something to scale them.
I like Meredith the most so far, I noticed the dog and got a spoiler for Viola.
Eugene who is heatingly ? discussed isn't to much of interesst to me yet.
uhhh….I could image Kiley, the dog, Meredith and potentially Viola being my favourites even if I'm unsure of Violas personality yet and what the dog actually has to offer.
see the problem is that the quest objectives for the first quests are so far out of the way for some that you just end up hanging with kayleigh for a huge chunk of it.
How many mons can you carry with you at one time in your party while you're out in the field
my favorite companion has got to be Eugene, we unlock his fusion very late but once we do, it's over for every single thing that opposes us
Sad I got the romance bug for my achievement. Romanced Meredith but it never popped.
So, one thing I didn't see mentioned was the fusion super moves.
Whenever you are fused you get another full bar cost move to use as long as you have at least two hearts with a companion. I don't know what determines the specific move, but I do know it is locked behind the second heart with characters.
It's slightly annoying that I went here and there and rushed to get the companions after only missing two of them. I guess I liked knowing where I didn't explored yet.
I may have not used my favourite monsters and roughly made tactics so far, butI own most monsters now.
Just plan on getting everyone ready to fuse.
Eugene is my favorite cause we share a common hate for the capitalists, i gonna put a ring on that hand 😌
