The Carolina Panthers will meet with former Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr this week at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Carr is set to meet with Carolina along with New York and New Orleans as he looks to find a new home before the start of the new league year in two weeks. Julian Council explains why it’s the smart and prudent thing for Carolina to meet with Carr before shifting its focus to the 2023 draft class.

I don't see the problem with Carr as long as we still draft a QB. I would prefer if we didn't start a rookie QB. It worked out with Cam but so many rookies get smashed every year. Having to sit on the bench with a clipboard does a lot for a QBs growth. Some of the best QBs ever didn't start their first season
Julian, love the podcast.. I disagree with you when it comes to bringing Carr here. Bringing him he would give them a 3 year window to lock up a solid rookie..don't leave the season to Sam darnold. If you get someone like Richardson he's gonna need work so let him sit for a year or 2 behind Carr before taking over…my 2cents.

Carr would be a lot of cap space, but he wouldn't be as bad a decision as the last few qbs we settled for.
Bro there isn't a Joe burrow or Trevor Lawrence this year. There isn't that sure fire can't miss prospect. We aren't getting one of the top guys this year without trading valuable assets to move up. So I would much rather sign Carr a proven guy who is only 31 with 5+ years of good football left. Save those assets and use that top pick on a WR or DE. Keep next year's first as well. This guy isn't darnold or Mayfield. He's not matt Ryan or Wentz either. He's better than all of them and he makes us an immediate threat in the nfc and division frontrunners by far. Not only this year but for the foreseeable future. With Reich we will get the best of Carr. The best of Carr is a top 10 QB easily. I'll take that plus our assets. It's almost crazy to me people aren't understanding these things.

I want AR15 and Carr we can stay at 9 and still get AR15 and get a TE in free agency and draft Accordingly after the first round we can trade a couple players from a 6th and 7th round picks we need to get some more picks this draft is huge
Carolina needs to extend players now and make cap space if you bring Carr in only do it for 2 years or 3 but to be honest we need more players on both sides of the ball we only need to keep players that are proven on this roster we need to draft Joey porter JR to go with JC horn as well
We also need atleast 2 OG in the draft or one in free agency and one drafted we also need to draft DL and ILB and OLB and SS or FS these are all needs 100%
