Can You Beat Borderlands 2 with Only Phaselock?

For those interested in giving Warframe and Whispers in the Walls a try for free: https://t.warframe.com/c/7546e7

Thank you again to Digital Extremes and Warframe for sponsoring this video! It was a lot of fun to work on, and potentially getting some new Tenno into the world is always a nice prospect. I hope you can enjoy your time exploring the origin system and may grofit be upon you.

Rules:

1. No unique gear of any kind.
2. No BAR.
3. No offensive shield.
4. No direct damage through any means outside of Phaselock and Phaselock accessories where possible. For instance, Helios, Converge, and Ruin.
4-1. This includes any skills such as Blight Phoenix and even jumping on enemies. Phaselock only means Phaselock only.
5. On any violation of the rules above, the area must be reset via save/quit or a hard reboot of the game.

Borderlands continues to break at any given turn, so why not try to lock some things down into some level of consistency? Oh… Oh, that’s why.

Jokes aside, pretty much any excuse to play Maya is a great time for me. It’s always a heck of a nostalgia trip, and I find it comforting even through various levels of vaguely nightmarish challenge runs.

  1. For anyone interested in giving Warframe a try, there's a lot to love for free: https://t.warframe.com/c/7546e7

For anyone who loves the grind, I think it's genuinely a great experience. Also, between the creation and release of the video, I have gotten a chance to dig into it a fair bit, and I can confirm. I'm loving the additions in the update. Now to make my book scarier…

  2. As a Warframe player of old, i wanted to say that the ultimate achievements in this game are not high damage numbers or the ability to clear a room of Level 100+ enemies in a second. No, the true endgame of Warframe lies…

    In the Fashion

There is no game that allows you to customize your characters more freely than Warframe, to the point where even something like Spuddy's pure-white color scheme can work wonders at times

  3. As a longtime warframe player as well, calling it fun is certainly a stretch. It’s addictive and you won’t be bored, but the best memories I’ve had have always been gift the most ludicrous gifts to MR3 players. “Oh you just started? Have an entire Nidus prime, join my ranks as we fill the world with delightful MAGGOTS!” In my heart of hearts I know they’re just turning around and reselling them, but I hope I’ve made an impact on enough to help grow the maggot population.

  4. As a long time warframe player as well, it’s not the most enjoyable experience, especially for new players with zero idea of how the game works. Some of the best experiences I’ve had is throwing ludicrous amounts of gear at low MR players, mainly Nidus primes so that we may band together as a brotherhood of infestation and fill the world with the maggots (even though I’m sure half of them just turn around to resell him)

  5. 6:00 Yep. You can be hit by them in that spot, but it is extremely unlikely. I used that spot during a particularly miserable OP levels run in which for whatever reason I was horrifically undergeared. I don't remember the circumstances, possibly because I blocked them out to avoid traumatic flashbacks, but I do remember some of the creative cheese I found.

Fun video as usual. I think after the last few runs, you were due for a… relatively… simpler run. I honestly wish that Phaselock tapped more into the sort of elemental chaos that Maya's design kind of hinted at but didn't really commit to. As ineffective as the Phaselock augments were at max level, it was so satisfying to set off all those elemental effects, and left me craving more.

  6. I love your videos and content in general. However, your commentary does make me concern for your mental health. Beyond just the masochism runs like these take. Your commentary is somehow wholesome, and depressing. I'm not sure how to word it, honestly. What I'm getting at is: Are you okay, man?

  7. I've always done the open door mission in DSP but never thought I could actually cheese some XP all the way to Lvl 5. Honestly, I dropped 2 to play 3 but hey, now I know.

And also honestly, the Grimoire is a terrible weapon. The last thing I'll ever bring on a mission. I have dozens of weapons that just sit in my arsenal that I would dust off over that thing.

  8. Honestly I was gonna ask if you like gasmask and/or MAK but gasmask hit the comments immediately but I was kinda mostly curious about MAK because before his exposing YouTube wouldn’t recommend smaller channels not like you’re small cause I have like idk 3 or 4 subs so to me you’re a whale tbh idk how I got them

  9. Crazy to see that one of my favorite challenge YouTubers not only got sponsored by a game I've been absolutely devouring recently but also has 2k hours on it himself. I love your content and it's cool to see you also enjoy Warframe.
