At the start of the game, players are given a small group of survivors who are looking to establish a new home. Players must help these survivors build and expand their settlement, providing them with shelter, food, and resources. The game also offers tough moral decisions that impact the survival of the settlement. For example, players may have to decide whether to help other settlements in need or prioritize their own needs. The game also features a sandbox mode that allows players to build and explore without the pressure of survival.

  1. You are correct about the amounts, x number of raw material makes x number of product.
You could have just upgraded the tailor to advanced tailor.
If you want more animals get traps, 50 traps make you able to upgrade the hunter to catch animals easier.
I would spend the tech points getting the farm and farming efficiency. You'll get more food faster.
You can never have enough storage 😛

  2. I've been enjoying your play through! One big thing that will help your production: you're underestimating the impact education has–you're producing 20% less than you would be if your workers were educated.

For example, an educated worker produces 5 rough clothes from 5 linen where an uneducated worker only produces 4 rough clothes from 5 linen. The same for firewood, an educated worker produces 10 firewood from 5 logs but an uneducated worker only produces 8. You can tell if you're getting an education debuff by looking at your buildings. If there's a greyed out graduation cap it means there's uneducated workers employed.

And that 20% loss of production can compound across some of the supply chains like clothing. Uneducated farmers produce less flax, uneducated mill workers produce less linen and uneducated tailors produce less clothes. So you take a hit on each leg of the chain and end up needing more labor (farmers, mill workers and tailors) to produce the same amount as an educated settlement.

Putting in schools will provide a pretty big boost to productivity across the board AND if you spend a tech point on School Expansion (under the science tree) your schools will produce more science than your research institute is producing right now so it doesn't hurt to put in a few more schools than you need just for the easy tech points. It's also worth switching one of your tailors to produce down jackets since they last longer, keep people warmer and provide more happiness so the people who get the down jackets are more productive (especially in winter) and use less fuel to keep warm.

  3. In the early game gatherers and hunters are crucial. After you get your agriculture going they become close to useless other than the out side chance of getting new seeds and/or animals.
I'm probably doing something wrong because I rarely ever acquire animals and seeds unless I buy them.
