Shadows of Evil, the map that started Call of Duty Black Ops III Zombies. This map is another one of them maps that I find to be pretty overrated but still like it. Going for this round 100 I managed to get in three attempts coming back after not playing it for a while. I think this map is pretty cool. It features a really cool wonder weapon that I’d say is one of the best looking. It has a pretty good layout and the overall setup doesn’t take too long. I really enjoyed using the specialist on this map. With the amazing sounds, cool animations and effects, this easily makes it my favourite specialist in the entire game. Although with that being said there are better specialists in the game that are much more efficient at killing zombies on other maps. The bosses on this map are easier to deal with than Der Eisendrache in my opinion. I think the process of getting Pack a Punch on this map was pretty cool. I overall really like the design of this map as well.
The strategy used in this video is the main strategy that most people who high round on this map use. The strategy takes place at the Waterfront District leaving the entrance to the Waterfront door closed and also keeping the stairway gate path in the district to the right closed as well. I remember first seeing this strat through ilsteveil’s video back when the map came out and thought to myself that I’d never come close to ever doing it. Now almost 9 years later after that video’s release I was finally able to get better enough to reach round 100. The guns I ran for this setup were the Apothicon Servant, the Kuda + Blast Furnace and the HVK + Fireworks. For the perk setup I ran Quick Revive, Juggernorg, Stamin up and Mule Kick. I think ideally if you’re going for high rounds it is recommended to not buy Quick Revive until way later on in the game to remove Death Machine powerups, however I ran Quick Revive as I don’t have the confidence to go without it. After fully setting up, I’d normally camp mostly spamming the Apothicon Servant with Alchemical up until round 40s to 50s before I would start using the sword. I’d also make sure to have the shield built outside the boxing gym as this was the closest and easiest place to access it. This strategy at first was pretty hard to learn for me back a while ago when I tried attempting it a few years ago. However I ended up finding it a lot easier than I thought it would’ve been. Rounds were going by very fast during the beginning but started to slow down about round 70+. But this was still pretty fast all the way to the end. For Margwa rounds I’d normally start the rounds by standing next to the Civil Protector switch ready to summon when the Margwa comes close to its landing position. I’d normally do this by using Lil Arnies to lead the Margwa towards it which pretty much guaranteed it to die everytime I done this. This strategy is pretty easy once you get the hang of it but I feel like its key to have the wonder weapon armed and ready incase of any fast red screens.
This map ended up causing me much less of a problem than I thought it would. I had a much harder time with Der Esendrache probably due to how unreliable the wonder weapon for that map was for saving you in tight situations. This map definitely has a much better and more reliable wonder weapon which is probably why. Although this map could be considered slightly more difficult since you’re constantly moving around doing this strategy unlike some of the other maps. This game ended up taking around 4-5 hours which isn’t bad at all. I was never really too great at this games mechanics which is why I find myself struggling to achieve high rounds on this map. Most of the time when I did play this game back in the day I normally always used Mega gobblegums which is probably why. Using Megas definitely eliminates a lot of the skill factor for this game in my opinion. I do find myself enjoying this game a lot more with classic gobblegums as I find using these provides a pretty good challenge. I also find with this game you die a lot quicker than the other games which is something I’m still trying to adjust to.
Down error:
For those who are wondering. In this game I only took one down, however I wasn’t able to capture this footage properly. The reason for why this happened is because for some reason I only captured 30 seconds rather than 45 seconds of what happened which lead to the footage being cut right as I downed. This is something I’m pretty annoyed about and unfortunately can’t do anything about it. This down happened while I was running around the area as the sword was killing and ran into an unexpected few amounts of zombies which pretty much insta downed me. Didn’t really have enough time to react to this as it was completely unexpected as the sword normally kills most zombies around you anyways.
Thanks for watching 🙂
