Lmao, I can't believe you guys accidentally locked yourself into a romance with Kaidan. I'm not entirely sure if it's still possible to reverse it. If the option pops up to shoot him down in any way, there may be hope yet, but I think it already would've if it was, so it's not looking too great for you hahah. I think if you picked Liara up earlier, it makes it easier, but as you said, you couldn't have known that.
Although, all that flirting with Kaidan, I have to say that you dug your own grave, Eric 😂 Having said that, I wish they made it more clear before it locked you in, it's been hilarious to watch tho
Ayy, Wrex got his armour! Another great episode! Thoroughly enjoyed this one; the shenanigans, the hacking failure, and the romance blunder, particularly enjoyed the Kaidan situation hahah. Now I'm really curious about how the rest of the game will go in terms of romance haha.
Some of these planets are so pretty, and I agree with Sarah, some of these planets, moons and suns look tasty. As always, loved hearing your thoughts and commentary, and all the funny bits. Can't wait for Monday's episode! Kaidan is waiting for you, Eric
It may be too late in ME1, but for future reference, in ME2, a trophy normally pops up when you're first locked into a romance with someone, and there's a scene indicating that you've started a romance path as well. There are usually quite a few autosaves in 2 iirc, and you can also load up a previous manual save right before it locks you into a romance with someone, it's better than 1 in that regard, and it's incredibly obvious in 3. You'll have quite a few options in the other games, choose wisely 👀
Unfortunately it's pretty easy to walk into a romance with Kaidan and Ashley. On my first playthrough I accidently got into a romance with Ashley. It's easier to shut her down early but I missed it the first time. Basically if you're too nice to them you end up romancing them. But dont worry, you are not locked in for the whole series.
Narrator's real name is Neil Ross btw 😀 The actor's. Just in case. But to me he sounds like George. Or Alan??
I feel your struggles with visited planets in ME1 haha. I actually started keeping notes eventually as well, because otherwise I'd just get so lost.

As for the games I'm excited about, Hades 2 for sure, I think Dragon Age Dreadwolf is on its way this summer. Otherwise, nothing really? Game dev climate these days is so… complicated. I absolutely agree with Sarah that things are coming out too much, too often, it's so hard to keep up!! All that dev crunch gotta stop! Most of the games I enjoy playing take their time to come out. Like the Talos Principle 2 that came out last year, took them 7 years? And it's gorgeous!

Okay, I stopped laughing for a bit, but regarding the romance, don't be too disappointed. No spoilers, but there's many romantic chances onwards! 🙂 Usually if you want to avoid romances in ME1, you just gotta go middle option more than paragon. I hope that comforts you lol.

I’m actually dying at the Kaidan situation lol. It happens all the time. Don’t feel bad for falling into the romance trap of Paragon options lol.
I’m not sure if you’re too late to go for Liara at this point. We’ll have to see what happens as the playthrough goes on.
These are the consequences of leading Kaidan on! Have to pick your dialogue options carefully! Shouldn't have flirted with loverboy so much lol!
Haha I do think you guys are locked in with Kaiden. Though I have to say, give him a chance! He actually becomes a favorite romance for a lot of people. However, without spoiling you guys, there are plenty of romantic options in the future, so if you want another partner don't worry lol. Though certain romances do improve in the future! Whether Kaiden does or not, you'll just have to see XD.
You don’t have to stay with Kaiden in future games so don’t panic, many great options in the next game!

I have to admit, I hate the way this game effectively "tricks" you into a relationship with Kaidan. When I play as FemShep, I tend to avoid talking to him as much as possible, until after I've locked in a romance with Liara.
Heads up: There's another character in ME2 which the game tends to throw you at. You'll spot them easily enough when the time comes, so… be careful when speaking to them, too!)
I got locked onto a romance with Liara even though I wanted to go with Ashley, I feel you guys.
Do not worry. You will have more oportunities to part ways from Kaidan in the next games, and romance other characters…
For what it's worth, voice actor who narrates the Codex is named Neil.
Not sure—but if you go ahead with Liara there will be a confrontation and a chance to switch your paramour. You've got nothing to lose by being a cheater….Flirt with Liara ! Tell her you want to talk about her….and go full paragon…
I've never seen that conversation go that way with Liara.

But in all seriousness, don’t stress about the relationships until you are trying to collect all the trophies! Personally, on my first play through of any game, I avoid reading the trophy list and just see what I get naturally.

I always like how you go through the mission to get wrexs family armor, and he's like, "Look at this pos."
Actually, romance you don't really want in the first game is a great way to be open to all romance options in future games. Like, I romanced Liara in ME1 and couldn't be unfaithful to her in ME2, because I liked her so much, even if I really wanted to romance another character in ME2.
Maybe I'll do Kaidan in my next playthrough just to have my options in second game, lol.
I am really interested in what point of the game you are currently and what can be spoilers to you.
The Kaiden romance is in full effect, let's go! He played the long game it paid off. I think what really sealed the deal and won your heart were the bathroom tiles cause it really let you know he was serious about your relationship thinking about your future together decorating your house.
