Surviving Mars gameplay overview:

Welcome Home! The time has come to stake your claim on the Red Planet and build the first functioning human colonies on Mars! All you need are supplies, oxygen, decades of training, experience with sandstorms, and a can-do attitude to discover the purpose of those weird black cubes that appeared out of nowhere. With a bit of sprucing up, this place is going to be awesome!

Surviving Mars is a sci-fi city builder all about colonizing Mars and surviving the process. Choose a space agency for resources and financial support before determining a location for your colony. Build domes and infrastructure, research new possibilities and utilize drones to unlock more elaborate ways to shape and expand your settlement. Cultivate your own food, mine minerals or just relax by the bar after a hard day’s work. Most important of all, though, is keeping your colonists alive. Not an easy task on a strange new planet.

There will be challenges to overcome. Execute your strategy and improve your colony’s chances of survival while unlocking the mysteries of this alien world. Are you ready? Mars is waiting for you.

  1. You should start focussing on Terraforming because thats a very slow process and you have all the Time for everything else as soon as the process starts. Also if you want your people to reach far away Domes you need Shuttles or Trains. Apart of that your doing a pretty good job.

  2. I am glad to see you starting to run electric cables under pipework. Don't ignore terraforming in the research.
You want that CFC factory asap. It consumes your concrete production waste and starts to warm the atmosphere. You will find happiness starts to increase as the planet warms and starts to produce vegetation. But it takes a long time so you want to start soon.
I think celebrity applicants can increase happiness in the colony so it might be worth taking one next time one becomes available.

  3. Food solution: The best way to ensure a dome has food is to place a food depot by the entrance of the dome and make sure it has a request to keep at least 50 food in it.

Food creation: The best plan to grow your own food is to research Farms and build those, they have only one shift open a day, but if you keep soil quality high by rotating crops, you can get a lot of food fast. They work best when manned by Botanists.

Fusion Reactors: These are an amazing mid to late game power source. They require a lot of workers though. And Engineers in these buildings provide much power. Very costly though.

Rover Command AI: This would be amazing for your Rovers since you can set both the Explorer and the Transport to auto gather. The Explorer would auto travel to anomalies and the Transport will gather any supplies on the map and bring them to the base.

Domes: A medium Dome by a Vista would grant you more flexibility and freedom to experiment than a Basic Dome. You also won't regret it later since you can't upgrade a smaller dome into a bigger one. (IMO, that's a damn shame.)

Superconducting Computing: A rare breakthrough that will dramatically increase the speed of your research! You got lucky to get this one! The way it works is any excess power that isn't being used to charge batteries or being used is turned into research points. Best wat to think of it is by priority level. It goes: Active power users, Batteries, research.

Resource Balancing: The best way to move resources from One Depot to another far away one is by Shuttles. Trains could also be an option, but they require some setup before hand. For short distances, Drones will move them automatically
