The swedes were not happy with leopard 2 so they re-build it to get better. Now strv122 is ranked no1 in the world according to discovery channel.

Everyone know it wont happen, no country can win any war in seconds or minutes, it takes weeks, months or even many many years. Everyone know Sweden would not stand a chance if Russia would attack us, their Army are just too big for majority of countries in the world to withstand.
Yes sure we have high-tech and very good army units, but so do other countries.
Our army is still very small, since our down sizing it for last 30 years. Only last 5-10 years'ish we have begin to rebuild and upgrade our army again. Even speed up our upsizing for NATO membership and will continue to grow, as being forced to use more money to build up bigger army.

As a swede I would say we have good equipment and also a good education for our soldiers, so we have the quality, but we need the quantity. We put more money into the armed forces atm, so we will reach a good quantity in time. If we look at sweden in the 60s, little sweden had the third or fourth largest air force in the world. So we have a lot of experince when it comes to our fighter jets. I dont think any country in scandinavia will start a war and I would say your pretty nuts if you should attack any of the northern countries on their home ground. We complement each other in a way thats truly impressive. Finland have a lot of strong ground troops, Sweden have the steel, the technology and the equipment to build both, fighter jets, air defence, armored vehicles, different vessels, good artillery with the archer and you can ask the Americans how our subs are doing 😉. Norway have the oil, the fishing and huge hydroelectric power resources, Denmark is sharp as a needle when it comes to technology, they export a lot of meat and we must not forget their good beer and dont forget little Iceland, with its big fishing industry. All of us also have the one thing no one cant ignore, we always have the weather and the winter on our side. For shure we always try to annoy each other, like sibblings do. But we also are like sibblings when the shit hits the fan to. Thats the time we stand together. I would say your in deep shit if you try to wake up this sleeping bear. 🇫🇮🇮🇸🇩🇰🇳🇴🇸🇪

Sweden operates approximately 90 Gripen. And Gripen is better F35 on some areas and F35 better then Grioen on some areas. The numbers such as speed and range the F35 are better but EW suit on Gripen will give the F35 a run for it’s money. F35 uses angles and materials for stealth but Gripen uses it’s small size and EW suit for stealth (simplified).
The submarines aren’t specifically big but they are the best submarines for the baltic sea because of their size and stealth.
And sweden have had 210 years of neutrality, it have been neutral since 1814.
The i in Gripen (not Grippen) is pronounced like the e in english easy.
Sweden has never been a superpower and aren't a superpower now. Their GDP isn't big enough and the manpower pool to replace battlefield losses is miniscule. Sweden under Gustavus Adolphus (1611-1632) was a powerful regional country, but not a superpower.
The problem with Sweden as well as most countries besides the US and Russia is that their soldiers have no battlefield experience. I am not a Russian apologist, but if Russia set their sights on conquering Sweden, Russia would conquer Sweden.

What everyone should keep in mind when they watch this video is how the Swedish military looks right now, because Sweden is expanding the Swedish armed forces. With more regiments to be built or brought back into service, after previously being shut down in the late 90s and early 2000s. They are to increase the number who will do military service now in one stage by 3,000 people and will increase with even more people who will do military service. New and more modern handguns, sniper rifles must be purchased. Everything that has been shown in the video will be more. NATO has the requirement that 2% of NATO member countries' GDP should go to defence, Sweden will invest more than 2% on Swedish defence.
Nice video but the narrator is missing some key points. The CV-90 IFV and Archer SPA should've been in there, and the most significant advantage of Gripen is EW and C&C abilities, were missed out. One Gripen is not more than a very capable fighter, but since it can communicate with both army and navy units and share data between aircraft automatically, providing additional targeting data, it allows for some powerful combos. And since it's stealth is software-based, it is much cheper to maintain than physical stealth measures

F-22 is undenyably the best Air-vs-Air. And the F-35 is just extremely expencive version of the JAS. Althou the JAS is both cheap and a fantastic multirole aircraft.

We have Gripen that's all. Recently our Military that soon are more than 50% women complained that they had to work after 4 a clock in the afternoon. The most important right now in Swedish army is that all 100 genders are welcome. We would not last 3 weeks in the field even if no country attacked us…

As far as combat performance goes, sure there are probably several jets that beat JAS 39 Gripen in a 1 on 1. But there are none that has more performance per dollar. Cheap to buy and very cheap to maintain. And it is not airbase dependent. Doubt there are any other fighter jets that can consistently be used, at this level, without a proper airbase. The Swedish Leos are different from those in the video.
