  1. I remember hearing the word/term “Mig”as a youngster…

I remember having “Drop Drills” in school…

When the Sylmar Earthquake hit, my first thought was that the USA was under attack by the USSR… I was waiting for the “flash of light” and being incinerated by a nuclear bomb…

Didn’t have time to even be afraid…

  2. Thre Russians eventually got the Mig back a year later in about 2,500 pieces because before the Japanese returned it they let the United States Air Force dismantle it to see exactly what it was made of. We then found out what a piece of junk it was.

  3. what happened to b-70 was the first one was destroyed after a Collison with f-104 on June 8 1966. the pilot of f-104 was killed plus the copilot of b-70. and the other one is at Wright-Patterson USAF Museum. and it never was mass produce plus the program was cancelled.

  4. The US actually bought the titanium from the Soviet Union for the SR-71…. Which foods in the same time frame as the mig 25. They had the material they just had no way to machine it . I could be wrong.

  5. This is hilarious watching it on the heels of Part 2 of American Horror Stories Double Feature. The aliens kept telling Eisenhower if he didn't cooperate, they would go to Russia. My Mom stated that our technology boomed tremendously after Area 51. I think Ryan Murphy and my Mom thought a lot alike. 😊

  6. The F-15 was designed and made to combat what the Mig-25 was believed to be. Because of this misconception, the F-15 outclassed everything there was at the time.
Speed has a purpose, but you cannot dogfight at mach 3 where your turns are the size of Texas.

  7. I've always had a thing for (General Dynamics) F-111's. The RAAF (Royal Aust Airforce) had quite a few of them. They were truly amazing to see & hear. I once went to an air-show & had a RAAF F-111 Aardvark, decommissioned, do a fly over with a turn & burn. So the F-111 dropped to about 300m off the deck, as it crossed in front of us, it hit it's afterburners & almost went vertical. It shock us to the bone & was almost deafening. But so bloody exhilarating!!! Never seen any other plane do it as good as it. I would have liked to have seen a Mig-25.

  8. Hi Kabir! From my understanding, the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 aren't built as much for speed as for other capabilities such as stealth. I live in Fort Worth, Texas, which was the home of Carswell Air Force base, now the JRB, or joint reserve base as well as General Dynamics which was taken over by Lockheed Martin, major defense contractors. As such, I went to school with and had many neighbors who's families were in the military or worked in the defense industry. My dad used to take me and my brother out to watch the planes take off and land near the base, and Carswell had an open house every year where you could get into the planes and watch an airshow. I also went to a lot of parties on the base with school mates, and even had a girlfriend who's father was a colonel in the air force. She would take me to the PX to stock up on booze and cigarettes for cheap and the airmen recognized her and would fall all over themselves to be helpful. They were great guys!
