  1. Thank you Joni, for ALL of your imagination, your creativity, sharing it with us all, and most of all Joni, thank you for remaining CANADIAN dear. THAT is the best compliment you could give to the entire Country. Joni, the Canadian Super STAR! thank you, thank you, thank you

  2. Love Joni, but she never took care of her voice. What a pity. She never cared as much as we did about that crystal clear voice. A good poet though, because that doesn’t require physical voice. This is a vocal parody. Too bad.

  3. What a train wreck. Shouldnt have taken that vaccine joni. Still – at least we are now living in the marxist utopia all you old hippies dreamt of. The best is yet to come! enjoy

  4. I was at the Newport folk Festival in 1967. Although I was sitting pretty far back in the audience, stretched out in the lawn with a girl I wanted to get close to (but never did) I can still recall Joni Mitchell’s performance. It was pure magic. Leonard Cohen was also there but to be honest he didn’t make much of an impression on me at the time. Later, of course, I became a big fan of both Leonard Cohen and Joni. They played a huge role during my college years. I’m almost as old as Joni, and although the years have taken their toll the memories are as clear and strong as ever.

  5. To the people who said Joni Mitchell shouldn't have done it. Don't patronise. She wouldn't have done it if she knew it would be fake, wrong,… All her work is a.o. about vulnerability.
And the orchestration, the backing vocals, … are all perfect. As if Joni Mitchell oversaw this. This is one of the most beautiful renditions of the song.
Thanks Brandi Carlile and the crew for making this happen.

  6. I lost my mother at 7 we were ran over ..unfortunately she made it and I did.. later on in life , my year and a half niece was taken from our family by the nanny… I wish I started to understand the meaning of “god doesn’t give you what you can’t go through”… cause it sure seems like my life has been a nightmare.. I’ve forgotten how to love or connect with others of fear of going thru the same pain again…this song really touched me in understanding..i really don’t know love or life at all… can’t wait to be done with this nightmare.
