  1. If its not obvious, Chapek was clearly chosen as a "fall guy" for Iger's poor and clearly failing decisions of his first CEO period. Iger set up Chapek to "fail" so he could easily return. He never really left. Disney needs a new CEO. Preferrably one who doesn't cave to the current "woke" culture of DEI and ESG compliance. Get back to simply providing great FAMILY entertainment.

  2. Let me just say, I love this channel because that for one I can tell you legitimately love Disney and the parks, and for two you often anymore will cover topics on things and not completely politicize all of it, that if you talk about something political 9/10 will try to stay neutral

  3. Any news on when hatbox ghost is gonna finally debut at world? It amazes me how the installation of one animatronic takes more time to do than the whole transformation of the haunted mansion over in Disneyland for haunted mansion holiday, and people have the audacity to say Disneyland isn’t more focused on and favored than Disney world. By the time that new interactive queue opens at lands mansion we’ll still be waiting for the hatbox ghost.🙄

  4. You can’t purchase merchandise with the intent to resell?!? Then what’s the point of being an annual pass holder? 😁

Seriously Disney, how are you going to track this? I mean, I do think it helps that you absolutely MUST have an AP. That prevents people from bringing their entire friends and family so they can exceed the quant limit, but beyond that, how are you going to track the resell? At least they’re letting them have discounts. At one point, they weren’t even letting them have that.

  5. I have said it before, it was clear that Chapek didn't love Disney and never understood that Disney feel that so many people do. And a company like Disney needs a CEO that understands that.

  6. Been going to Disney for nearly 50 years now. I've seen many changes along the way. So good some not so good. I know the ins and outs and how to make the most of a visit. IDK who the CEO is as long as they are making good decisions for the guests. That doesn't seem to be happening for the last several years. Also, my Disney stock isn't doing so hot right now. Thats a clear sign something is in turmoil. It is clear to me that whoever is in charge of the parks (don't get me going on the film potion), moving forward needs to work on bringing back the customer service with empathy. Doing the best to remedy when things go wrong. Not marginal effort. Show more empathy towards the hard-working families when things go wrong. They do go wrong more often now than ever before. Disney service has slipped over the years. The service effort by Disney is a far cry of what it used to be. Whoever is in charge next, I hope they work on this problem. Best of luck to Iger and Chapek, maybe they can work out their differences or egos. Maybe not. Keep up the good work WDW News Today. Keep us posted.

  7. Zootopia will be terrible in animal kingdom. Jungle book would be better or something with a natural related theme, why do we need a animated city themed area in animal kingdom. Heck even Moana would be better than zootopia. Zootopia would be better in Hollywood studios but carsland would be better

  8. But if Zootopia comes to AK, will the quality be the same as at Shanghai? Hmmm….
And why can’t WDW scan tickets to limit the sale of special edition items, like they do in Tokyo?

  9. dinosaurs should stay in AK, but ditch the carnival theme.Upgrade it into something more immersive, adding a water or flight ride. Zootopia would be better suited for hollywood studios. Any new land in AK should be mythical creatures as originally planned. Rides featuring a dragon or pegasus or giants would be cool.

  10. PLEASE don’t get rid of dinosaur !!!! Animal kingdom was supposed to be a park of animals of the YESTERDAY🦖 the TODAY🦁 and FANTASY🐉 (banshee) Put this thing either on the super long bridge from Africa to Pandora or replace rafiki with a
Zootpia overlay. Animals aren’t supposed to wear clothes. As weird as that sounds it’s not how the park was intended

  11. WDW News, When you watched the interview on CNBC's Squawk Box about the stoush between the 2 Bob's. It was sad to hear that the company was being run with no one knowing who was running the company. Company Dept. heads playing the 2 Bob's off against each other. If they did'nt get what they wanted from one Bob, they'd go straight down the hall and the other Bob would give his O.K. It was the Bob game. Tiana's Palace, I hope the 2 original wall painting's in the alcoves inside the restaurant were saved. Walt personally commisioned those 2 painting's of early New Orleans. Though the new alcove artwork blends very well with the new make over.Cheers, Chris Perry.

  12. I guess Nahtazu is a going to be zoo now! This will be worse than Dinoland. I was hoping the GM of Animal Kingdom would have stood up to the CEO and tell him the theme doesn’t fit the park.

  13. Here is my take on the Tales of Two Bobs.
BI made two mistakes. He made some questionable financial decisions in regards to Pixar, Marvel, 20th Century Fox, Hulu, and Lucasfilm. Pixar and Marvel generally worked out. 20th Century Fox and Hulu are still underutilized. Lucasfilm was and still is poorly managed and that issue should have been addressed in the beginning. Putting the OT on 4K in its theatrical format would have gone a LONG WAY in curbing SW fans bitterness. Frankly it appears that BI's regret about hiring BC as CEO was more about making himself (BI) look good then helping BC suceed in his new position.
Once BC realized he was the sacrificial lamb, he should have turned to his strengths. He and the rest of the executives should have continued taking the pay cut during the pandemic. Whiners should have been told "be grateful you still have a job." He should have just charged more but kept the perks. Food sizes should be a little smaller at table service restaurants. Unlike at home, you are not going to be carrying a doggie bag around the park. He should have deferred to the creative types more while keeping costs realistic. Its too bad he didn't use Disney's underutilized properties and shore up Lucasfilm. That might have helped blunt criticism.

  14. I read the CNBC article when it came out and you definitely have a different spin than those who aren’t a fan of either Iger or Chapek. Sounds to me that you are a blind paid Iger fan. First…. He did to Chapek what the Board would not let Eisner do to him making the CEO Title a second in command. Iger had complete control of Disney the first 22 months while Chapek was in charge. Believing anything else is ignorant. Anyone who believes this as a complete Chapek fail is either paid well by Disney or has reading comprehension problems.

  15. I'm a big fan of the channel… and I've held back from saying this… but I want to put it out there that I tried to utilize Be Our Gest for my upcoming trip to Disneyland, and they were not helpful at all.

I'm planning a 4-day, long weekend trip and I went to them only because of WDWNT. First of all, they didn't even reply to my request. I filled out the form, and received an email saying they would reach out to me within 24 hours. After 4 days, I emailed them… and they informed me that for Disneyland (Unless I wanted to stay on property at one of the 3 Disney owned, way out of my budget, resorts) they required a minimum 5 night stay. They offered no other help, aside from the suggestion that I book it myself, which I did… and found a better deal on my own, booking a good neighbor hotel through Hotels dot com.

I realize they probably do most of their business at the Florida parks, but as a west coast fan, I was very disappointed. You plugged them several times in today's episode, so I had to say something. If you're going to Disneyland for a weekend (not many people go for more than 4 days to begin with), Be Our Guest doesn't want your business unless you have big bucks to spend.
