Black Ops 4’s story choices were some of the most baffling things I’ve ever seen. If you like it, that’s okay, but i believe it could have been done better.

  1. To be fair, it also fits that they are in the forest by themselves so they can rest for once and not fight zombies. They could never ever end the madness in the story by themselves, they had to get outside help to end it all. Literally, everytime they tried, they would always loop back to the beginning. So the solution would be makes victis end it all for them. Ultimis and Primis would never be able to end it themselves.

WaW – BO2 with Jimmy Z and his team they created a perfect storyline that is way more interesting to read and explore due to all the real life references and elements that make it feel like an alternate WW2 story than whatever Blundell and his team did, it felt like they gave up and made things complicated because they wrote themselves into a hole which they probably did.

    I really like Chaos because it felt like the team actually had the guts to move away from the old storyline, start fresh and new with a new story to tell yet we all know that didn't last long because people didn't like it and now the storyline is even worse due to the forced plot holes that really leave an unsatisfying convoluted mess of a storyline.

  5. Sadly, the fact that zombies youtubers and redditers would just have glossed over the map this map and called it anticlimactic for the second to last map because they hated victus is probably why they did this.

DUDE….. either get out of my head or I swear, I must’ve thought this video into existence quite literally yesterday I was just telling my zombie buddies almost verbatim of the hypothetical “what if” scenario you just told. Such a tragic missed opportunity indeed brother. I don’t blame treyarch I know if it was completely up to them and they had a substantial budget to work with ether would’ve concluded in a way that would’ve resonated stronger with us as well as chaos

  7. I’ve always imagined having Victis be the crew for both AO and Tag, have Monty snatch the Agarthan Device last minute (like Richthofen in Shadows with the Summoning Key). Then Victis arrives in the Frozen Forrest uniting all 3 Crews and together they set out on one final journey to get the Agarthan Device from Monty.

  8. It's almost shocking these days how bad companies are at giving the fans what they want, until you remember that most developers are fans just like us, just being held back but the publisher.

    it's true that Activision actually TOLD Treyarch to stop working on Alpha Omega halfway and most likely Tag just so they could move on and work on….. Black Ops Cold War 😭

  9. Honestly the biggest L for treyarch was the Great War.
    I understand why it didn’t happen and I find the ending bittersweet and actually pretty good but the Great War that ends and ends the cycle would be better

    With thriling and atmospheric as ever map surpassing kino…derrise…veruck AND SHINONUMA
    Because afther war…everythibg got undone again

  11. And the original call of the dead easter egg, ultimus were trapped. so it would’ve made sense for them to actually be in the map finally. Especially since it’s where they were originally tested on.

  12. God, this video just open my mind to something I needed. The story you made for Victus, then Ultimis/Primis; all were made into a good ending. Chef kiss. You should do more of these type of videos; Call of Duty Zombies reworking or even rewrites are an big love for me. Really good video, man. Always keep up the good work. 👍

  13. The one thing I despise in bo4s story is that they deliberately changed Samantha Maxis' VA to sound like a kid who as a strep throat or whatever they call it to sound like someone that has a mucus build up in their tonsils

  14. I think removing the campaign and shoving a massive ass battle royal map into this game mid development really did irreversible damage to this game. I believe they pulled lots of resources and poured their efforts into making blackout work (it didn’t).
    This is evident with how polished the game looks, how unstable, unplayable at launch which turned away lots of fans.
    Even menu and hud design was a downgrade which shows how little time they had.

    Also telling the chaos story alongside the Aether, instead of finishing the Aether then starting chaos caused a massive hit to popularity.

    I believe Jason and zombies team were moved to the next cod installment after the initial fail. But they kept showing up in promos and trailers for show only. AO & TDT don’t look like Blundell and his team style of maps or ee.
    I will never forget Activation for what they did to my story.

Chaos never even got a chance to be finished and ironically they mention parts of it in vanguard zombies for that it’s worth, Victis was done terribly in the bo4 because ultimately they never got any freedom and then they never got to learn any truth about why they did these things. What’s even sadder is realistically like you said they should have never been on tag der toten, I wonder what went on behind the scenes if the storyboard near the end. They would have to actually remake alpha omega and tag for the story to feel correct and work for the ending, but people would complain.

  17. To be fair, there’s quite a bit of evidence that we were supposed to get TranZit, Buried, and Origins reimaginings too (likely back when the game would have two seasons of content).

    It makes sense if after AO we got TranZit and Buried, followed by the Origins reimagining that likely would be The Great War. Then Tag would be a sort of epilogue (we know it would be last because of a cipher in Gorod Krovi mentioning such).

    Also I think they were trying to do a COTD homage where Vicits is being bossed around like the COTD cast was.

  18. If victis were on alpha omega, they also could’ve done something like the moon EE where they do whatever it is for richtofen and co. But then they learn the truth that richtofen was just using them so they listen to maxis and blow up the earth. However, using this structure from moon’s EE to alpha omega could’ve lead to victis listening to either richtofen or nikolai but then when they give them the elemental shard they learn that they’ll be banished to the dark aether(or are given hints that something bad will happen to them) so, using the technology at broken arrow and with the help of russman, they could’ve made some portal or something to take them after the events of “the banishing” so that they’re not taken to the dark aether. We still would’ve had to have learnt and seen what happens in the next map but we would’ve been left on a cliffhanger for victis and victis finally would’ve broken their cycle of following orders which would be part of the theme of BO4, that being breaking cycles.

There are many problems with your alternative version here 1 Peter McCain being Misty's dad is as dumb as Dempsey being her dad it doesn't work. 2 saying primis and ultimis have 0 connection to camp Edward says to me you didn't listen to the radios or pay attention to the story as to why they were there. 3 the deaths of primis and ultimis were done the way they were because we learned that realistically takeo is pretty much the only one who didn't really fight back. The overarching theme of BO4s ending and the whole cycle idea is coming to terms with the fact that you and those closest to you will die at some point it is inevitable even if you try to stop it you are putting yourself in and endless purgatory cycle. I do agree that swapping them would have changed the map interactions and such the issue remains that the ending still needed all parties to have a resolution of them all dying and dying in a way that wasn't just to zombie hordes because thats not satisfying either.

  20. Im sure Ultimis/Primis voice actors are expensive and Alpha Omega has double the voice lines than it normally does but it could be Jason Blundell’s decision to mix characters in one map rather than splitting Ultimis/Primis into Tag. Victis could have been killed off with Blood of the Dead

  21. Maybe it’s just me, but I like what we got. Something people don’t get is that the storytelling gives a LOT of reverence. I don’t think you’d get that switching the roles.
