The sky people could mean ancient Indians. In Indian mythology there is a proper mention of King Bali who was sent off to South America by one of the super power god/king of ancient India. King Bali went to South America which was earlier known as "Patal Loka" in Indian historical texts and established his kingdom and hence the Mayan civilization started. The "Patal Loka" is described in Indian books as one the realms of existence which lies 70,000 yojnas(a unit of measuring distance in ancient India) under the land of India. Surprisingly if we indeed dig a tunnel downwards from India we might end up in South America as South America lies at the exact opposite side of India. There are mentions of ancient India possessing advanced flying machines which were then called as "Vimanas" and there is a huge possibility that this was probably used to commute between the two continents by the Indians and hence the name "sky people" came up. There are huge similarities between Mayans and Indians including similarities of language… The first king of Mayans was King Bali as well. So these are some dots that can be connected and maybe the future advancements in technology will help us unravel the past even further!
