  1. Day 40 of requesting Age of Mythology

Today's book suggestion is Deadlands: Ghostwalkers By John Mayberry. A spin-off of everyone's favorite weird west ttrpg, this novel has the undead, mad steampunk science, dinosaurs, and a gunslinger with a mysterious past hoping to find a new life for himself. Honestly, I'd be shocked if a little of that game didn't end up inspiring this one.

  2. Gotta love a stealth game, where the protagonists comments really, REALLY, LOUDLY on himself…

I like thief but not Horror fan so the game didn't really tempt me. It's kinda ironic since Thief 3 had one of the best Horror levels ever in it. No shouty, shooty, jump scary, monstery horror though

also the Thief inspiration doesn't have to go all the way to the graphics. But NOT to the "save system" which is just completely unacceptable. Trying out different ways and solutions is part of the these games, but not if i have to replay the whole section again like on a flipping PS1.
Thinking of it… the similarities to Thief are really rather limited.

  3. Star Control Date 0035. It might actually be 34. But I'm calling it 35 and sticking with it.
If there comes a day when I'm asked to recount my (ever so humble) requests and it is revealed to me that my count is off, I will happily adjust the count to be more accurate, or even more happily, I will produce more requests to fill the gap (with increasing humility throughout).

So. Here we are. Here I am.

    I'm just a man.

    A humble man.

Standing here, in front of Jon.

Requesting that he play Star Control 2.

Is there an element of selfishness to this request?

    Sure.

Do I also consider these requests an act of service?

    Yes.

Would I say it knocks on the door of being a mission from god?

Humbly and with a superlative amount of deference… yes.

    Is it his favorite game?

    All signs point to yes.

    Does he know it yet?

    Probably not.

    Thank you very much

    and

    goodbye.

  4. Weird West, Evil West, Blood West… Idk what's with this recent surge in dark fantasy Western games, but I am here for it.

Also there's actually a movie called The Good, The Bad, and The Weird. It's a Korean Western and it is…well it's definitely weird.

  5. Cheers for the vid! Hope you'll continue on into Chapters 2 & 3 as well! This is a game that keeps on giving, and I'm not saying that because I am in it, but because it's genuinely a gem – especially if you're an 19th/20th century gun enjoyer (or a Hunt: Showdown player), then it's even better!
    Cya in Chapters 2 & 3, partner.

  6. Please, Jon, go back into Kenshi – however much practice or advice you need beforehand!
Those of us who are the comment section and supporters would, i'm sure, be ready to be cannon fodder in a series of streams as you wrangle your way through a post-fallout wasteland 🙂

  7. Jon, I appreciate you trying out so many different games. Many of them (like this) I've never heard about prior to your video. This could make a fun live stream! One thing to note: head shots appear to be insta-kills for everything. I imagine playing as the classic Skyrim "stealth archer" would take you very far in this game.
