Blood West is a delightfully hardcore western-horror adventure about sneaking around haunted towns, gunning down monsters, and stealing evil magical relics…

A livestream or two of this would be awesome!
Ah, Blood West, not Evil West, I was confused as I didn't remember this intro, but themes are very similar
A thief like game? Nice! I have been playing thief recently and like the gameplay
Day 40 of requesting Age of Mythology
Today's book suggestion is Deadlands: Ghostwalkers By John Mayberry. A spin-off of everyone's favorite weird west ttrpg, this novel has the undead, mad steampunk science, dinosaurs, and a gunslinger with a mysterious past hoping to find a new life for himself. Honestly, I'd be shocked if a little of that game didn't end up inspiring this one.
Anyone else hoping for the return of American Jon lol?🤣
“nothing can hurt you in a tutorial dungeon” said confidently by a man who a few weeks ago played Daggerfall
my vote for a livestream
Jon was glad the miner's were dead because he felt bad about robbing them. I was thinking that the murdering was a bit worse than the looting the corpses.
Was hoping it was another evil west game
Livestream!!!
Like if Darkwatch and Theif had a baby.
Amazing game. Have had it since early stages EA. Even better at full release ^_^
I tried so hard to get into this game but man it is painfully unforgiving. And it's so easy to miss with everything. And missing? That's basically death lol.
Gotta love a stealth game, where the protagonists comments really, REALLY, LOUDLY on himself…
I like thief but not Horror fan so the game didn't really tempt me. It's kinda ironic since Thief 3 had one of the best Horror levels ever in it. No shouty, shooty, jump scary, monstery horror though
also the Thief inspiration doesn't have to go all the way to the graphics. But NOT to the "save system" which is just completely unacceptable. Trying out different ways and solutions is part of the these games, but not if i have to replay the whole section again like on a flipping PS1.
Thinking of it… the similarities to Thief are really rather limited.
Not really nostalgic appealing to me either. However very appealing anyway. Goofing around in this looks great.
anyone else get MediEvil vibes?
This would be fun if this were still 1997 but Seriously Jon?
An amazing and one of my favorite indie games.
Star Control Date 0035. It might actually be 34. But I'm calling it 35 and sticking with it.
If there comes a day when I'm asked to recount my (ever so humble) requests and it is revealed to me that my count is off, I will happily adjust the count to be more accurate, or even more happily, I will produce more requests to fill the gap (with increasing humility throughout).
So. Here we are. Here I am.
I'm just a man.
A humble man.
Standing here, in front of Jon.
Requesting that he play Star Control 2.
Is there an element of selfishness to this request?
Sure.
Do I also consider these requests an act of service?
Yes.
Would I say it knocks on the door of being a mission from god?
Humbly and with a superlative amount of deference… yes.
Is it his favorite game?
All signs point to yes.
Does he know it yet?
Probably not.
Thank you very much
and
goodbye.
"no good cave has candles in it."
that sums up OG Tomb Raider (1997) perfectly
Jon, I really hope that you make this into a full series, because the next two acts (stages/areas) have a lot to offer you, I think you'd have fun with it, and it'd make for good content.
Your Spirit Totem seems to be channelling Tom Waits, awesome.
16:13 "There might be loot, just help myself to everything that looks interesting" And immediately fails to spot gold coin on the ground. Certified -1 perception moment 😁
Jon. Jon never changes.
Should I make a drinking game of how much important loot Jon misses?
Nah.
More please
So Thief meets Dark Souls.
Weird West, Evil West, Blood West… Idk what's with this recent surge in dark fantasy Western games, but I am here for it.
Also there's actually a movie called The Good, The Bad, and The Weird. It's a Korean Western and it is…well it's definitely weird.
I'm glad to have come across this. I've been eyeing this game for a while, and this all looks very promising.
DEFinitely interested in a livestream!
I love the design and style of this game. Gives me some Turok 2 and Soul Reaver vibes. Very nostalgic. I hope Jon does a full playthrough of this game sometime!
Is it a controller thing that makes you not score headshots?`
Cheers for the vid! Hope you'll continue on into Chapters 2 & 3 as well! This is a game that keeps on giving, and I'm not saying that because I am in it, but because it's genuinely a gem – especially if you're an 19th/20th century gun enjoyer (or a Hunt: Showdown player), then it's even better!
Cya in Chapters 2 & 3, partner.
💀🤠
Please, Jon, go back into Kenshi – however much practice or advice you need beforehand!
Those of us who are the comment section and supporters would, i'm sure, be ready to be cannon fodder in a series of streams as you wrangle your way through a post-fallout wasteland 🙂
Played a bit of Blood West, quite fun
Series
Leave it to Jon to stealth archer a cowboy game
I loved the original "Thief: The Dark Project" – if you've never played it, it's totally worth it.
"Comes a man to rescue me…. poor man…"
Amazing concept and execution.
Jon, I appreciate you trying out so many different games. Many of them (like this) I've never heard about prior to your video. This could make a fun live stream! One thing to note: head shots appear to be insta-kills for everything. I imagine playing as the classic Skyrim "stealth archer" would take you very far in this game.
That does sound like a fun combo though… the bow that uses health, and the knife that gets health back. I like the way this game thinks!
Jon, use more rock
