Yet another certified Horse Moment ™
New kino just dropped🍿
I really hate when everyone is only talking about dogs in wars but no one talks about horses
Great video. Thanks for sharing 🤚🏻
Finally a documentary about the use of horses on the German side during WW2. Thanks 🙂
Horses still play a part of the blitzkrieg
Quit horsing around, you guys.
MTG's much more noble ancestors.
Horses didn't fit the image Goebbels wanted to project, so they were rarely filmed.
they had some beautiful, amazing horses. a shame so much good horse DNA was lost in the war. some of my best memories are from riding horses with my auntie
Thank you for this video and for shining a light on this topic. The prussians were horse lovers and very good at breeding and training them.
In the end we came to know horses were real blitzkrieg
One of your best productions ; Thank You @ HAW . !
The Last Knights of Europe
oops im six hours late tonight! 🙂
Awesome video
Stop calling it "Blitzkrieg" like some British Boomer.
It's manouver warfare (Bevegungs Krieg). The German military literature and officers of the time call it that.
The German lost because they need Mexico plain truth!
can i get a link to where you got the german memoir excerpt? id love to read more
Just like the American furniture village too! In Vietnam they just don’t want you to heard that!
Hello
Barbarossa the biggest logistical disaster in history of war fair .German high command had the best tactical and strategic in military but worst logistical planing and that’s what lost them the war and it was obvious 4 months in to the advance by October 41 the war was lost people think it was lost after Stalingrad but when you lose 20% or more of your troops and equipment in the first winter it’s already over as we all know they never came back to the point where there were by beginning of winter 41 and simply you lost the war right there
Cheers
Magnificent animals,, alas
Thank you for this!
Excellent sir ❤
America had vehicles Germany had horses lol.
When fuel stops flowing, the horse will be king again.
What a waste of fine animals !!
At 25:38, URSS?
An excellent video! I'd love so see one that traced the history of the latter war with 4th and 5th Calvary Brigades. Infomation on these are pretty scarce. I've only found a couple of books on that subect, through all my digging over the yeats, and would like to know more. For instance how Calvary Group Hartenek nearly killed Hitler in March of '43, but von Kluge (Cleaver hands), chickened out. Would make for interesting viewing. It already makes fo interestoing reading..Also a special episode on the 18th Panzergrenadier division. The unit that was probably destroyed the most of Das Heer, and the entire Wehrmacht in the entire wat, inclusing rhe Battle for Berlin.
Awesome!
It was a magnificent historical coverage video about military cavalry units of German armies during WW2. How Nazism military commands insisted to show glory and importance of Cavolery units in historical Tetoenic period glory prospectives….thank you (history at war ) channel for sharing
Great channel, great docz!
👍👍👍
❤❤❤
It’s time for individual profiles on historic generals of world
War 2 Guderian Rommel for example
What are the Comanche and Apache in the Sioux America is still lost the warrior cultures under a command of a white Commander harassing the attack of the Germans supply lines define the same fighting style with better supplies and better weapons that their ancestors did during the Indian wars against the Germans that would be something why would it hurt to Germans so much I think operation Harpy is to hit them really hard and really fast starving the amount of supplies slave labor and loot they don't have them three things for German war effort pretty much would go and falter they would die much quicker the thing is if the Allies Target the final solution in the death camps for more aggressively and they have ability to launch special operations behind Nazi lines and you devastated range between against the Nazis the watermelon lasted much Germany would collapse just like the first world war Canon lever action rifles are for much better to the grands and some aspects modified larger caliber of a lever action the sharp sniper rifle what is an old-time lever action rifles the 18 light to 4565 or the 4060 calibers for the lever guns could be pretty deadly pure rate of fire American the same type of native American type of tactics that he used imagined they taught some of the partisans the partisans and them working together would be deadly Commander that the United States army had at the time who would be deadly in these type of tactics he actually grew up at the end of the old west the old west from world war II was in that far away there was still a lot of people who were cowboys still alive don't forget if Billy the kid was still alive he would have been his 90s doing that. And some people doing the slavery. We're still alive by the by that time could you imagine using old western native American tactics and US ranger a Comanche tactics against the Germans in world war II would be very interesting and I think that would have hurt the Germans badly really prodigy is the beat the Germans in fighting they think they fight a bunch of partisans when they actually fighting a well-trained well-armed counter genocide anti genocide Force armed to the teeth designed to destroy the German mobile death squad units in regular army losing their army in Mobile death squad units you really think they would carry on the final solution I don't think so they might want to give them to war much longer can't get the supplies in the labor false labor and they can't kill Jews what's the point of fighting a war Target their collaborators too
"You beat a dead horse."
There's something you must know : you can work a horse to death…. unlike the oxen. Oxen when tired they will just stop working and sit where they are, no way to make them restart working even beaten severly. A horse ? Pushed and pushed again will drop dead under you. If you beat a horse, he will go and go on until have a heart attack, etc.
Buy the way, german horses were not adapted to the Pontic Steppe. Germans tryed to replace their horses with the small sturdy steppe poney far much more endurent.
My granpa was a cavalryman in Poland, France and later Ukraine.
They where then integrated into the 24th Panzerdivision "the leaping horsemen".
Wounded in Stalingrad, captured 45 in Marienburg pow until 48. Became 96 y. Tough lad
Thx 4 the Video
I've learned German WW2 tanks were not equipped with heaters for the crew.In extreme cold they had to run the engine all night for fear of not starting again.
