  1. Black is King is way better than Renaissance sorry not sorry. It was monumental, and it was on Disney. I'm just waiting for a Beyonce Haïti Konpa album, and I will be at peace

  2. my trinity is Self titled, Lemonade, and Cowboy Carter, i think they were the most experimental yet so personal. Self titled is still the closest to my heart but if she comes out w visuals for Cowboy Carter i might reconsider

I feel bad for Candace because she experiences colorism and it Gizelle and Robyn are bullies for sure.

  4. First, Jessie you look fabulous.

Second I definitely agree with you that this is better than Renaissance (but I love me some Rene). My favorite albums are Limonada, BiK, and CC. BiK/The Gift is indeed her best work next to Limonada and CC. That's a fact and I will stand on that.

I don't care what anybody says but those are her most authentic albums with her self entitled being just under that.

    But a few things.

One, for anybody who thinks that Jessie is being serious about Beyonce being Haitian, I don't think she is serious. At least not all the way lol.

I know there's a lot of people who are in the diaspora who love to soak up ADOS culture and co-opt it as their own and claim ownership of our legends and strivemakers (not saying this is Jessie, I am generalizing) all the while calling us xenophobic and other unfair things, even though we are actually the most welcoming group of people to our detriment. Where is xenophobic but why is it that so many black people in the diaspora who have no clue when African-American heritage are able to be successful off of our shit?

A lot of the ADOS Beyhive loved BiK but it's but it's tainted for them. I choose not to let anyone or anything mar my love for that album.

Beyonce's Black family are undoubtedly African-American descendants of chattel slavery and free people of color. Her family was here before the civil war, like way before civil war.

She is ADOS through and through.

But also true, after Haiti did their damn thing and got them clear folk all the way out (yes bitches!), many white folk and Black Haitians did come to Louisiana much later in the 1800s. So I will never deny that cultural exchanges definitely probably happened at one point.

However, the Black culture in Louisiana that was established way before the 1800s included Voodoo and African spiritualism just like in other places in America where slavery was instituted. Our food at our music is uniquely from our ethnic group.

Every other black nation should be standing proudly on their heritage and their people and those people also never let anyone try to co-op their shit or say that they are a part of something they're not.

Let us do the same. Let us have our own shit in peace.

And I really want people to understand that you cannot take away our heritage and our identity and claim it as your own because what is more xenophobic than to live in a country that you're not even a native of and talk shit about the people who buily this country on our backs?

It's a daily reminder that the diaspora plays a part in anti-blackness and uplifts white supremacy on African-American descendants of chattel slavery.

A d o s is its own unique culture and ethnicity. We have our own way of doing things and it is our culture that has dominated this world stage for hundreds of years. We are that bitch and do not let anybody and make you think otherwise. Do not let anybody make you think that you are supposed to give your culture away and let everybody claim it as your own and then stomp on you when you try to close ranks.

Both Lemonade and Renaissance and Cowboy Carter uniquely ADOS. Every thing Hey nce has ever done is ADOS to the bone.

And this leads me to my second point. I wish people would tell the whole story about black is King because we were very excited for it and we lovey what Beyonce was doing because most of us are not ashamed of our African ancestry and are very proud of it while honoring the fact that we are indeed our own ethnicity.

But let's talk about how Twitter and Instagram and other social media places where the African collective partakes in ate Beyonce's back out about her alleged co-opting West African and South African cultures within the continent and using them for cool points without having a deep understanding of what she was doing. They dragged that woman through the mud for a good 10 to 12 days. And there were thousands and thousands and thousands of likes. They didn't take what she was doing as an homage and uplift her. Her work with diminished to nothing more than being a trend that she was following.

I am not saying that every African felt that way. Because number one, Africa is a continent made up of many different countries with many different viewpoints and ways of living and a lot of our sisters and brothers over there were supportive evidenced by the fact that they were a part of the project which is another thing that is important to note when Beyonce put that together. She made sure to include the people who she was paying homage to.

All I ask is that people not try to diminish or lessen the works that African-Americans descendants of chattel slavery.

  5. I am a beehive veteran! I am Beyoncé’s number one fan! Argue with ya mama! I’ve loved her since the first note she ever sang publicly! I know every lyric of every song released, re released, or remixed! Cowboy Carter is her best album! Beyonce is country and always has been. She sang r and b with her country twang and changed the game, she sang pop in her country twang and took over! She raps in her country twang and if she decides to drop a rap album, bitches will suffer! Black is King is amazing! It’s probably in my top 5 BEY albums! Her visuals were better than the movie!!!!! I read somewhere that Chloe and Halle are singing bkgrd on Tyrant which is my fav!!! I haven’t confirmed it so feel free to let me know if it was them.
